CALGARY - A Greenpeace activist is accusing the prime minister of being too embarrassed to put the Kyoto plan on the G-8 agenda.
Steven Guilbeault, climate campaign manager with Greenpeace Canada, spoke at a public forum at the Unitarian Church in Calgary on Sunday night.
Guilbeault says he isn't surprised that Kyoto isn't on the agenda when the G-8 leaders meet in Kananaskis. He says Chrčtien is embarrassed by the fact that Canada hasn't signed the Kyoto Accord.
"I think the fact that the Kyoto protocol is not officially on the agenda is because we are a bit ashamed of our track record and ashamed of the fact that we have not said what we would do."
Federal Minister of Natural Resources Herb Dhaliwal has said the federal government has not made a commitment to ratifying the Kyoto Accord at this time.
