What Erik and Erin are doing...

January 21 We are currently in Coral Bay, a small tourist town in the northwest. The reef here is amazing. Internet access is still pricey and scarce. In a couple of weeks I think we will be back in Perth, and we should have some more pictures to post.

I've finally found a new email account that I like. If anyone wants to, you can email me at ejohnson[at]fastmail[dot]fm, just replace the stuff in the []'s with the normal email symbols.

January 14 Hi there everyone. Sorry for the lack of updates and email. We are currently in Kalbarri. It is really great here, but internet access is kind of expensive. I promise I will send email, and do a proper update when I get better access.

January 4 Happy New Year!

We haven't had a whole lot of adventures since the last time I've updated the page. New years eve was a good time spent mostly at a big bar full of thousands of people. There were people partying everywhere in the streets. It's just not the same as being with all of your friends though.

Yesterday we spent our day at Adventure World. It is an amusement park/water park in a Perth suburb. It was a little pricey, but we ended up having a lot of fun. Though at one point we were about to get on a ride after waiting in line forever, when someone on the ride puked all over while the ride was in motion. We had to come back later. I'm just glad we weren't on the ride when it happened. Such are the hazards of amusement parks.

Once again we are getting ready to move on from Perth. Tomorrow we are going north to a town called Lancelin. We are booked to travel through to Exmouth, but we don't have any plans beyond that. We are going to travel on the Easyrider tour bus again, which is good, and has nothing at all to do with the 70's Easyrider biker movie.

I noticed that the hit counter at the bottom of the page now has over 1000 visits recorded. These things are never very accurate, but it is still kind of cool to know that our little web page is kind of popular with some people. Of course that means that people are reading what I write and I have to try and make it good.

The observant amongst you may have noticed that I've added a couple of links to the top of the page. There is The World According to Erin where I've put copies of Erin's updates. Travel Links which is just a page with some links to travel sites that I think are kind of interesting. Finally there is the Old Stuff which has the old news, pictures, and messages. Including last months news a pictures.

These are sea lions we saw on Kangaroo Island. This was a really neat place because guides take you down onto the beach and you can walk around with the sea lions as long as you don't get to close.

This is a Blue Whale. Yes, I know, it looks like a rock. Trust me. This is a Blue Whale.

Me feeding wild parrots bird seed. These things were crazy. They would land all over anyone with food. I wanted to take one with me, but I don't think it would have traveled very well in my backpack.

This lighthouse sits on the most southwest point of Australia. To the left of the lighthouse is the Southern Ocean and to the right is the Indian Ocean.

I've moved the old updates to a seperate page, in order to keep the page from getting to big. To read December's news, go here.
