Erik and Erin in Australia

Driving around Tasmania was a blast. We had a great time. I'll write more about it later though, because writing it all down is going to take ages.

We are currently living in Devonport, Tasmania. We have jobs as apple pickers. We live the glamourus lives of harvest workers. We get on a bus at 7:00 am, pick apples all day, then get back on the bus at 5:00. I tend to go to bed by 10, Erin however seems to be able to deal with life on a little less sleep. The job is ok. The real advantage of it is that it's work that is readily available. It is hard work, but I've done worse. Mostly it's just mind numbingly boring. The pay isn't great either. We get $24 AUS for filling a crate with about 450 kilos of apples. So far, we've found that if we work hard we can make minimum wage.

It's not all bad though. We get to be outside all day, we take breaks whenever we want, and we chose if we go to work for the day or not. Plus I've only fallen off a ladder once.

That is what we are keeping busy with at the moment. Hopefully soon we will write about our tour around the island. If I'm lucky I'll be able to get some new pictures up soon as well.
