OUR MISSION:
PEAR TREE Avian Sanctuary provides placement for unwanted pstittacines. We rescue, rehabilitate, and adopt out relinquished parrots. In extreme cases we offer a permanent home. PEAR TREE offers parrot owners education and assistance with basic bird care, nutrition, and behavior issues.
Parrot Education, Adoption, & Rehabilitation (PEAR) serves as a temporary sanctuary facility for exotic birds. At PEAR TREE we strive to educate about the responsibilities of companion parrot ownership, as well as proper care techniques. When a bird owner is unable to keep their pet, we provide the means to find a loving, suitable new home.
Each surrendered parrot undergoes careful evaluation to determine proper future placement. After arrival, many displaced parrots need rehabilitation for a variety of behavioral problems. The majority; however, require radical changes to their diet. Poor nutrition in companion parrots is a leading cause of both physical and medical problems including: vitamin deficiencies; fatty liver disease; and feather destruction.
Here at PEAR TREE we feed BirD-elicious Species-Specific foods. These foods are made from human grade, completely organic ingredients. All proceeds from food sales support a growing network of Avian Sanctuaries like PEAR TREE. For more info - please click BirD-elicious link.
