Title: Traffic Author: Erin M. Blair E-Mail: eblair@sonic.net Classification: SR--Story, Romance Content: Mulder/Scully UST to MSR. Spoilers: Small Potatoes. X-Files: Fight the Future Movie. Rating: PG-13 for a passionate kiss! There is some sexual talk, but I don't go into it. Archive: Gossamer: OK. Others: OK. Please forward to ATXC. Disclaimer: The characters of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully don't belong to me as they belong to Chris Carter, 1013 Productions, and the FOX network. No infringement is intended. Author's Note: This idea came to me when I was thinking of story ideas for Mulder and Scully doing some rather trivial. At first, this is pure UST then it leads to RST. This story is a first for me since I hadn't written any USTy stories in quite some time since "Discovery of Forgiveness". I hope that you'll enjoy this story as I had fun writing it. =) This story is set sometime after the X-Files: Fight The Future Movie. Also, this story is close to NC-17 smutt fic, but it's a risk for me. Feedback: Most appreciated and welcomed! I love to receive e-mail from people who had read my stories. Summary: Mulder and Scully are stuck in traffic, and decide to talk about everything under the sun until they get to the subject of their relationship. -------------------------------------- TRAFFIC Written by: Erin M. Blair-------------------------------------- "I can't believe that we're stuck in traffic, Scully," Fox Mulder said, exasperated. He frowned at the sea of cars honking at each other and he knew that it wasn't going to get better. "We're gonna be late for our case, Mulder" Dana Scully said, as her voice trailed off as she watched the highway. She saw a car on the side of the road with a broken glass windows and a smashed hood. "Looks like a car accident..." "That's why it's so bad today... Someone was in a car accident, and people are curious..." "Mulder, knowing *how* curious you are, I know that you would look too." "Scully, you know me a little too well..." "I should hope so," Scully said, as she looked at her watch. She frowned. "We're very late for the case..." "Good... I don't know why they assigned us this case anyway. I think that the Violent Crimes Unit could have handled it," Mulder said, with a sigh. "It's not an X-Files case..." He looked at Scully's side profile. God, she was turning him on. He had a burst of inspiration at what he wanted to do. "Scully, we don't talk much. Do we?" "No... No, we don't... What do you want to talk about, Mulder?" Scully asked. Her heart was pounding why her Mulder brought up something what the almost forgotten memory of Eddie Van Blundht had said to her. "I don't know. Let's talk about anything that comes to mind. It shouldn't be that hard, should it?" "We haven't played that road game before," Scully said, as she thought about their various road games that she played with Mulder over the past five years. She smiled as she remembered their last road game of twenty questions. "You won last time at twenty questions." "I know, Scully," Mulder said, with a smile. "What's the first thing that comes to your mind?" "You *really* want to know?" Scully asked, as she smiled at her partner. She wanted to challenge him. "You *really* want to know, Mulder?" "Yes, I do." "That's a nice shirt that you're wearing..." "Scully! Come on, you promised..." "You're right. Are you sure that you really want to know?" Scully asked. She loved Mulder, but she was afraid to let him know how she felt towards him. "I want to know... Come on, Scully. If you tell me yours, I'll tell you mine. Is it a deal?" "I guess," Scully said, with a sigh. She took a deep breath and continued. "You know how you sit behind the desk in your office, you don't know how much it turns me on..." "It turns you on," Mulder said, as he got a glance at Scully as he kept his eyes on the wheel. He smiled at her words, and he felt hard. He wanted her so much that he wanted to put on the AC unit. "You know you always say, "there's got to be an explanation?" Well, you always *turned* me on too." "Is that the only time, Mulder?" "No." "Name five times," Scully said, as she was enjoying this. Her heart was pounding as she thought of how much she wanted him, and now she was finding out that *she* turned him on. It was enough to make her breast tingling. "I only get five?" "Yes." "Whenever you say something very scientific..." "I must have really turned you on all the time then," Scully said. She paused. "Remember when we had our almost kiss..." Mulder nodded. "Yes. I wish that we had finished the kiss..." "Me too." "Scully?" "Yes, Mulder?" "If we had finished that kiss, we wouldn't have stopped. I think that we would have done it on that hallway floor..." Scully felt her cheeks warm as she was thinking the same thing. She wanted him so much that night... In her own mind's eye, she could picture them making love on the hallway floor... "This is frustrating." "Tell me about it," Mulder said, with a sigh. "Do you...umm....would you like to finish that kiss?" Mulder noted that the cars were still at a standstill. "We still have some time..." He saw Scully nod, and he faced her while their lips went closer until he felt her warm lips on his. Finally, they kissed with a passion that they had felt during that almost kiss. Mulder could tell that Scully was enjoying the fact that they finally had kissed after long years of frustration as he was. In the car next to them, a man yelled out, "Get a room! Jesus Christ..." "That was some kiss, Scully," Mulder said, with a smile. "Mulder..." "Scully?" "We should have done that years ago..." "I agree..." "Mulder," Scully said, as she noticed that the cars were honking at them. "I think that we caused the standstill." "Yeah, you're right. Let's go to that assignment..." "Does this change us?" "What do you think?" Mulder asked, as he grabbed the steering wheel with both hands and drove towards their case. "I think that it does... We're more intimate with each other," Scully said, with a smile. "That's why I think that we're going to waste that one of our two rooms." "That's such a shame," Mulder said, with a nonchalant tone. He wanted his privacy, but his thoughts about having Scully in bed really turned him on. He smiled at the thought of their upcoming sexual encounter. "You win." End of Story.
