LICENCE TO DRIVE IN THE CAPITAL CITY OF THE IRISH FREESTATE

License to Drive a bus in the Dublin Metropolitan Area, issued on 9 December 1931

This document was required for the Bundoran-Dublin Express which the Erne Bus operated during the early 1930s

DOUBLE PAPERWORK

Bus operators whose services crossed the border between N. Ireland and the Freestate were obliged to have documentation for both sides of the border.

While this may have caused headaches, much worse was the fact that taxation on buses, including import levies, had to be paid on N.I. buses operating in the Freestate.
