LETTER TO MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Thank you for not expecting too much from me at this time of my life. I will have many first this year and all I can do to cope!! We do not feel joyous at times and trying to pretend that everything is going to be the same will be impossible because we are missing one. Our family traditions will be too painful for us to continue this year. Please understand this and in the future we will have these traditions again. Please allow me to talk about my child if I feel a need. Don't be uncomfortable with my tears. My heart is breaking and the tears are a way of letting out my sadness. I plan to do something special in memory of my child. Please recongnize my need to do this in order to keep our memories alive. MY FEAR IS NOT THAT I'LL FORGET, BUT THAT OTHERS WILL. Please don't criticize me if I do something that you don't think is normal. I'm a different person now and it may take a long time before this different person reaches an acceptance of my child's death. As I survive the stages of grief, I will need your patience and support, especially during  holiday times and the "special"days throughout the year. Thank you for not expecting too much from me!

That letter was in one of the Comassionate Friends newsletters. I can not take the credit for it either, but it does say alot about going through  the greif process and trying to handle certin times of the year.  With every year that passes without my child this letter to family and freinds still says the same to me. I will always continue to have Ern in my heart , doing anything to make it easier for me ,my husband and my other boys.  This is a very hard road to walk down and a road that changes everyday. If you are visiting Erns page because you too have lost a child please know you are  not alone. We all need each other!  By doing this web page brought me closer to my child and by visiting other web pages of your precious children brings me closer to them and their families. This tool called the internet can be a wonderful thing. I have met so many wonderful people on these web pages , knowing we all are in the same boat (so to speak) helps at times when I need an extra boost   I do want to thank all of " our" presious family! We could not be doing this with out your support!! Our friends and community have been a great help too! Ernie's classmates hold a special place in our hearts! We  will enjoy seeing them grow, they are a good group of kids. And we wish them luck and happiness!! I do want to Thank All of you for your support and understanding.
