But it's the gift Ross sends that makes her the happiest--dozens of boxes of animal crackers. Chen administers to a 4-year-old boy experiencing a long, violent seizure resulting in brain damage. Tests reveal a rare metabolic disorder. County General doesn't routinely perform the test that shows this ailment when a baby is born. Chen starts a petition to rectify the situation and gets a reluctant Romano to sign it. Benton argues with Kovac concerning the treatment Kovac gave Chet Fulton (LINCOLN KILPATRICK) over one month ago. Now Benton's patient, Fulton needs a below knee amputation due to vascular insufficiency and the lack of proper preventive treatment. Benton blames Kovac for failing to perform the type of follow-up Benton does. Weaver reprimands Carter for doing a dangerous procedure without consulting Kovac. She also talks to Hathaway about Hathaway's lack of focus on the job.
