The cliffs and the skeleton bridge for the last shot were made as a model miniature by Emilio Ruiz del Rio and his model maker team at Churubusco Studios (Mexico).
The miniature was built to match the roofs of the studios where it was built the upper part of the skeleton, where the real people walked.
It was shoot wit a real sky, and the mountains and sky seen below the skeleton was painted by Emilio Ruiz.
Later on at Universal Studios, Albert Whitlock and his team, painted two views of the cliffs and the skeleton matching the group of riders approaching the bridge.
Albert Whitlock painted on of his wonderful cloudy skies and gives some life to it adding sun light rays.
That sky and sun light didn't fit the miniature filmed at Churubusco, so Whitlock repainted the sky and added the sun rays, and the far away volcano.
