Raphael was formed by Yukito (bass) on 1997. Soon after that, Kazuki (guitar) joined him and he became the leader. Then, Yuki(vocals) joined them. Finally, Hiro (bass) entered the band. All of them were 15 years old when they started. At the end of 1997 they had their presentation and they released their first dem too. The following year, they released their first mini-album, "Lilac", and single, "White love story". On 1999 they became major and released their single Hana Saku Inochi Aru Kagiri". They had 4 years full of success. But sadly, on October 31th, Kazuki passed away. He was the leader, the one who wrote the songs and composed most of the music. It was a tragedy not only for the band, but for the fans too. Kazuki was so young. At first, the remaining members stopped their activities. Soon after that, they decided to disband. Later, Hiro and Yuki formed the band "Rice" and Yukito started his solo project called "Black Love".
