The Alfred Hitchcock " Miniatures
and matte painting"
Rope (1948)
The background miniature paintings
changes from day light to night, through a dramatic red nightfall with
moving clouds. Probably made by scenic and miniature artists from Warner
Bros Studios. Mario Larrinaga and Paul Detlefsen worked for W. B. during
the 40´S. Larrinaga had already execute some huge cityscape paintings
for King Kong (1933) at RKO, so he could have done that backdrop painting.
