The Brazilian airport market is growing up in the last years.In the Northeast, new airports in the cities of Natal (Rio Grandedo Norte) and João Pessoa (Paraíba) are under construction.In the Northern region, INFRAERO is building a new airport inthe city of Macapá, in the State of Amapá.In the South, INFRAERO has started the bidding process forthe construction of a new airport in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, and will also build a new cargo terminal at the PortoAlegre Airport.In the Center West region, INFRAERO is building a new airportin Goiânia with a total investment value of R$ 282 million (US$122 million).
In the Brazil Southeast region, a new terminal at Vitória’s Airport(Espírito Santo) is under construction. The International Airport of Viracopos, in Campinas, São Paulo, one of the main cargo airports in Brazil, will receive R$ 33 million in investment (US$14 million). By 2007, INFRAERO plans on investing approximately and additional US$ 67 million to modernize the elevator system, and build a new express cargo terminal.
INFRAERO also initiated the construction of a new passenger terminal at the Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo.The project is estimated to be US$ 500 million.
