Aspects & Elements

Every Tufta has a tuft on the tail for which their species is named; this tuft plays an important role, for the colour is correspondent to their Element and aspect. A Tufta's Element represents which elemental force he has inherited control of, such as Fire or Air; the aspect represents how that Element affects them. A Tufta's aspect can be thought of their affinity for their Element, as they absorb that Element into their personality. (Note: The aspects of White and R-White are considered Meta-Elements, as they are given control over multiple aspects. These aspects are detailed on the Mutations appendix.)
There are four Inner Elements: Fire, Water, Earth and Air. There are in addition several Outer Elements, only three of which have been discovered: Electricity, Ice and Shadow.
Fire - Fire-aspected Tufta are strong-willed, hot-tempered, precocious and fearless from a young age. These Tufta are natural-born leaders and fighters, and if they are not the pack lead, they are usually the most fearsome warrior in the pack. They prefer action over thought, and as a result often get tangled in the trouble they produce. Fire-aspected Tufta have control over heat and flame, and prefer to eat their food (which is mostly meat) cooked.
Water - Water-aspected Tufta are subject to extremes in mood: they are either very gentle and kind, or very ferocious and wrathful. These Tufta, even the toms, have a natural ability for the care of children, and are usually the pack kitsitters. The Water-aspected are also adept at being a calming force; when words become heated and rashly-spoken, the diplomatic Water-aspected will usually step in to smooth matters over. Water-aspected Tufta have control over rain (though not storms), tides and the currents, and prefer to live near large bodies of water. They eat their food raw and consume mostly greens and fish.
Earth - Earth-aspected Tufta are solid and staid, slow to anger and slower to act, but they think their actions through thoroughly. The pack defenders, Earth-aspected Tufta make excellent pack seconds, as they are reliable and dependable. These Tufta are unflappable - nothing short of an apocalypse could rattle them or make them act recklessly. When not on the job as pack defender, these Tufta often aid the Water-aspected in their kitsitting duties, as their endless patience can get even the most unruly kits down for naptime. Earth-aspected Tufta have control over plants, the soil and the earth, and have a marked taste for ruffage as well as berries.
Air - Air-aspected Tufta are breezy and cheerful, if somewhat flighty, and are nearly impossible to anger. The jokesters and sly, sneaky thieves of the pack, these Tufta are incredibly stealthy and serve the pack as scouts and vanguards. To the Air-aspected, life is a game; their motto is 'Live, laugh and love, then head into the sky with a smile.' These Tufta are forgiving and never hold grudges, although the victims of their pranks often feel otherwise. Air-aspected Tufta have control over the winds and clouds, and prefer to eat meat over plants.
