I strode into 221B Baker Street to visit the world's first consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes.

"Watson, I'll be with you in a moment." He spoke to me while working with various chemicals. |
You never know what to expect when around Holmes. After all, he kept untidy records of criminals and tobacco in a Persian Slipper.
"Good to see you Watson. I'm afraid I'm on a most puzzling case."
"How so?"
"Mrs. Hudson has been oversalting meals lately."
Frankly, at first I could find no connection as to what 'oversalting' meals had to do with anything. Mrs. Hudson is the housekeeper at this residence and an excellent cook.
"You see, Watson, Mrs. Hudson only does this when she's angry or upset."
"What would cause this?" I wondered aloud.
"I'm not certain at the moment. She handed me a paper earlier but I cannot remember where I placed it."
Holmes walked over to the Persian Slipper and in reaching for the tobacco, found the paper inside. Holmes quickly read it and started laughing.
"What is it, Holmes?"
"I forgot to pay her."
And thus, the Case of Salt came to a close.
