One of the simplest and most delightful culinary uses is making scented sugars, which can be added to cakes or sprinkled over cookies or fruit. The most popular scented sugar [used by the Victorians] is made with rose geranium leaves, but you can make as many different flavors as you like.


Ingredients:
  • White sugar
  • Geramium leaves

  • Instructions:
    1. Simply get a clean jar and pour a half inch of white sugar in the jar.

    2. Then spread a thin layer of scented geranium leaves over it.

    3. Repeat until you reach the top, ending with a layer of leaves.

    4. Close and let stand for a week, and the leaves will transfer their scent to the sugar.
