During my participation in Webheads In Action, (WIA), I have learned many skills and techniques, that helped me update and maintain my web page. I also discovered and learned about many new web-tools available for language teachers and learners. This has reflected, positively, on the way I updated and managed online sessions created for EFL students in Kuwait University, in addition to the teaching approach I use. I feel more focused, flexible, and confident in leading a computer-lab, (c-lab) session, improving my ability in organizing and handling a group of students on-line during a chat session or when providing directions on using a certain on-line activity. Throughout the WIA on-line training experience, I was fortunate to have met great educators and professionals, who have broadened my view and knowledge on many issues related to the integration of the computer and Internet in teaching and learning English, globally. Many of my questions were answered through other participants answers and discussions of similar problems I had. I have been inspired by the creative ideas and teaching philosophies of many participants, headed by the team leader, Vance Stevens, who has facilitated many effective ways of using the technology in the language class and c-lab, showing us how to implement a constructive theory of language teaching and learning. Therefore, my focus will be on my personal teaching experience with the use of the web-tools before and after participating in a community of practice. Back to Week 5 Presentation |
