There is a brand new English School in Medan, Indonesia and it needs you !!! ILC Medan opened its doors on April 9th 2000 and has not looked back. We have too many students and not enough teachers.
Where is Medan you ask, well it is situated on the largest of the Indonesian islands, Sumatra. Located on the northeast side of the island. Medan is the third largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta and Surabaya. There are so many things to do in and around Medan….. Whether it is visiting one of the 16 different shopping malls or ..........climbing to the top of Sibayak Volcano,.... .... there is something here for you.

Where do the teachers stay while in Medan? Well... in a mansion of course... Located a short 3 minute taxi ride away from the school is the BIG, OLD, 13 BEDROOM, DUTCH STYLE MANSION.

We are looking for TESOL/TESL/TEFL ( Native speakers ) teachers. Requirements : - Nationality : American, Australian, British, Canadian, and New Zealand. Only passport holders of these five countries are allowed to teach English in Indonesia as prescribed by our Indonesia Education Department. - Teaching Certificate or equivalent. ( e.g. English degree ) - Young and smart appearance, outgoing and a team player. - Want to learn and willing to be trained. - At least 1 year of teaching experience.

So this is it, in a nut shell. We are all aware how little 4 million rupiah is after the exchange, ...... but consider where you will be living. The average monthly salary in Medan is Rp. 300,000,-. Earning over 10 times the normal salary is living like royalty.
The cost of local food is so inexpensive, you will be amazed......... For a meal of chicken fried rice you wont pay more than Rp 6,000,-. For the 3 minute taxi ride to school Rp 4,000,- will be sufficient… If you wish to take a " becak " only half that will be necessary.
The cheapest thing to do in Indonesia is travel. A nice holiday weekend in Brastagi,... including transportation, hotel, food and drink can be done for under Rp 100,000,-.
There are just so many exciting things about this part of the world .......... ........ you have to come and experience it for yourself !!!!!
