Choi Younhee Language Schools, Inc., ‘CYLS’ is in Kumi, about 250km southeast of Seoul, the capital of Korea, and is well known as the largest hi-tech industrial city, Silicon Valley of Korea. It is right in the center of South Korea and the big city, Taegu(the 3rd largest city in Korea) is only 30 minutes away from Kumi! All major railways and the highways run right by Kumi which is convenient to reach from anywhere in Korea!
CYLS is the largest and the most reputable private language school in the area. CYLS was established in March 1991, and is the only private language school in southern province that is offering college level courses with the recognition of Ministry of the Education.
Presently, CYLS is in operation of three language schools, 1) a junior school for children, aged from 3 to 18, 2) an adult school strictly for professional businessmen, engineers, etc., and 3) a campus in LG Electronics to train it's employees.
CYLS "Junior School" is located in the most prestigious residential area in town (right at the foot of the famous Mt. Kum-Oh and the faculty's apartments are within a 5 minute walk away from school! There are shops, banks, library, post office, doctor's offices, hospital, park and many more all within walking distance!
CYLS's faculty apartments are comfortably furnished with washer, fully equipped kitchen with microwave, and In each bedroom has a bed with a closet. There are 2~3 occupants in each apartment(2~3 bedroom apartments), and only utilities and maintenance are paid by the occupants. Since Kumi is a small town, the cost of living is much lower than big cities, probably about 30% less! And there's no traffic! You can reach almost everywhere within 10-15 minutes!
We currently have 3 Americans, 1 Japanese, 1 British, 2 Canadians, and more than 40 Korean teachers & staff. All classes are from Mon through Fri. Each class is 50 minute long, and there is a 10 minute break between classes. Class size is between 10 to 15 students each class.
CYLS has been steadily growing and presently looking for 2 teachers to work at junior school. General employment conditions are as bellow.
REQUIREMENTS: 1) must have 4 yr. Degree or 2 yr. Degree w/TESOL 2) must like children
WORK CONDITIONS: 1) Work hours: 25~30 hrs/wk, Mon through Fri. 2) Monthly salary: 1.7 million Korean Won+ 3) Paid holidays: about 10 days a year 4) Round trip economy class airfare 5) Housing: nicely furnished apartment 6) Medical: 1/2 paid by employer
