LegoLand
LEGOLAND is
located in Carlsbad, which is about 30 minutes north of San Diego. This is
a must if you have children under the age of 10. This park is great for
the little ones because there are rides they actually get to go on unlike
many theme parks. There are some that have height restrictions that
children under the age of 2 or 3 would not be able to go on. There was
only a few my tall 2 year old was not able to go on. But this park was
created for younger children. This park would be a day long trip. Most
children find rides they want to do over and over again.
When you first enter there are shops and a bakery. You won’t want to
miss the Welcoming Dinosaur. This is a bright red dinosaur standing
nine feet tall and 34 feet from his nose to the tip of his tail, made
completely from LEGO bricks.
Next is the
Village Green area of the park.
Safari Trek The first ride is the Safari Trek which you board
small jeeps and venture into the wilds of Africa and see life-sized
giraffes, zebras, lions and more - all made from LEGO bricks. Children
must be 34 inches tall to ride and 40 inches tall to ride without an adult
or someone older than 10 years old.
Fairy Tale Brook This is a boat ride and it features many
favorite childhood fairy tales. Be sure to keep an eye out for the Wolf!
He is up to his normal no good tricks! There is no height requirement on
this ride.
Water Works Be prepared to spend some time here and if you
don’t want your kids to get wet until the end of the trip, take the park
backwards because this is an area where the kids get to play with water. I
saw so many moms and dads upset that their children were running and
jumping in puddles and it was hard to see the children try to refrain from
it! The kids really enjoyed this part of the park.
Duplo Playtown If you want to sit and relax for a little
while and let the children run wild, this is the place to do it. It is
geared towards younger children. There are several little houses and
places to get hands on playtime. It looks like a place where local moms
and dads bring their children and better than any park I have ever seen.
Duplo Train This is a great little train with bright colors.
It has no height restriction so can be for any age. If the child is less
than 36 inches tall he or she must be accompanied with a friend 10 years
or older.
Village Theater This is an outside theater that has a show
scheduled a few times daily. Be sure to get a schedule when you arrive if
you would want to see a show.
Magic Theater This is where you find out all the secrets of
how they did they do that! Be sure to get there early and the doors close
at show times.
Ristorante Brickolini You can get wood fired pizza at this
restaurant.
Corner Shop Apparel store and sports equipment.
Fairy Tale Sale Store for fairy tale merchandise
Next area
in the park can be a few different ones but here is Fun Town.
Driving School Here children ages 6 to 13 can drive real
electric cars and earn their official LEGOLAND driver’s license.
Junior Driving School Same as above but it is for children
ages 3 to 5 and a smaller course.
Skipper School This is a boat ride where children learn
boating skills by going through a boating course. Must be 34 inches to
ride and if less than 48 inches must be accompanied by someone 10 years or
older.

right in front of you.

the chili!
Burger Stop Next to the Driving School you can get a burger
with some fries.
Lego Cool Club This is the hangout for master model builders
and has ice cream, floats and other snacks.
Brick Brothers Trading Company Store to buy more merchandise.
Photo Bus LEGOLAND Driver’s license photos are here.
Pit Stop You can buy your driving school merchandise here.
Family Care Center This is an important place to be aware of.
If you need help this is the place to go. Lost children or a parent as
they like to put it is located here!
Garden Restaurant is another place to eat that is not located in
the The Garden.
The
Ridge is another area of the park.
Sky
Cruiser This is one you will see on the way into the park. Pedal your
way around the ridge in high flying people-powered vehicles. You must be
36 inches to ride and if fewer than 48 inches, accompanied by someone 10
years or older.
Kid Power Towers You can see the entire park from this ride.
It is a ride in which you pull yourself up to the top of the tower and
then free fall to the bottom. It is slow so kids can enjoy the free fall.
You must be 36 inches to ride and if less than 48 inches be accompanied by
someone 10 years or older.
Across the bridge after Kid Power Towers is Miniland. This
is the heart of LEGOLAND. Here you will see so many amazing lego
creations. There are over 20 million legos featured here. There are so
many things to look at that there is a good chance you might miss
something. But you can take a guided boat ride on The Coast Cruise.
The Coast Cruise is located at The Lake. If you are lucky
you will get a very funny lady for your guide. Also in Miniland you can
visit Model Shop. This is where you can see what the Master
Builders are creating for the park.
If you have your own lego master builders with you or someone who just
loves to play with Legos, the Imagination Zone is a place
you can spend some time.
Lego Manic Clubhouse Here you can become a member of the Lego Club
and test software and other creations.

imaginations.

a new language- Martian!
Pizza Mania You can get pizza here or a drink.
Next area
of the park is Lego Explorations
Test Track This rollercoaster allows you to feel the power of
speed, braking, and maneuvering in a full size lego vehicle. You must be
40 inches tall to ride and if under 48 inches you must be with someone 10
years or older.
Test Track Diner A full service restaurant with fresh food.
Lego Technic shop Place to purchase you Technic products.
Ride Photography Pick up your picture from Test Track here.
The final
area of the park is Castle Hill.
The Dragon A “gravity coaster” that gives you a funny and
great view of the life behind the scenes in the LEGOLAND Castle! Must be
40 inches to ride and if under 48 inches, must be with someone 10 years or
older.
Spellbreaker This rollercoaster suspends you while it takes
you on a fast and fun ride. Must be 36 inches to ride and if under 48
inches must ride with someone 10 years or older.
The Royal Joust Ride on horses and pretend joust with other
riders. Must be 36 inches to ride and can not be over 12 years old. This
is a one-person ride.
The Hideaways This is a huge climbing structure with so many
different areas to explore that a parent can get lost very easily. My
advice is let your kids go for it but have someone keeping guard to the
entrance and exit at all times. Our youngest was able to take off while we
were trying to find them in this huge fort. There are so many places to go
in this fort that it can take awhile to find your children. And don’t
try to keep up with your children in this because there is just no way.
There are park people in this area also trying to keep an eye on wandering
children and make sure everyone is safe. This is a great place to let
children get all their energy out.
Enchanted Walk Take a nature walk through these lego models.
Builders Guild Ten of thousands of legos are available for
busy builders.
Courtyard Theater Shows with medireview stories.
The Knights’ Table Barbecue Here you can have a knight’s
feast.

dipping sauce, yummy.

King’s Treasure Pan for gems and fortunes for a small fee here.
Ride Photography The Dragon ride photos are here.
The King’s Market Buy your medireview merchandise here.
So that is the run down on LEGOLAND. There are plenty of places to shop,
eat, build, play, and have adventures. This was the favorite of my 4 year
old who still asks me to go back. It was a great park for our family
because my 2 year old could go on just about everything and actually loved
the rides I think more than his brother. Some may want to consider staying
close to the park and have two days for it.
Prices for single day admission prices to LEGOLAND will be $39.95 for
adults, and $33.95 for children 3 through 16. 2-Day passes are $47.00 for
adults, and $41.00 for children 3 through 16.
