ALYEN'S ULTIMATUM
Oktavianus stood on his chair with ale in hand.
Salimen stood at once and bowed " Masters Alyen and Loman, please pardon our crude ways, but we represent the region of Zegithir on a mission of great import." Torynth's face tensed while Aramil's countenance held a comical hint. When 'Raven' explained about thieves heading in this direction out of Bethlun, Alyen's eyes closed slowly in thought. Orcendro seemed perplexed and looked long at the constable for a reply.
" Gentlemen, gentlemen, no need to act hostile. We are humble guests of this town. It is not our will or intention to damage Tolx´s reputation in any way."
Gailwind choked on his peach cobbler.
Sticking his chest high, the dwarf continued " If you would be so kind to hear us out, our mission surely involves your lives as much as ours. I promise you that this situation can be handled peacefully."
The clad warrior gave an abashed glance at the elder as the cleric gulped down his drink.
The man in robes spoke sharply
" What message from Bethlun do you carry?"
Leah looked up from her plate smoothly and gazed at the statesman
" I'm sorry, I see you are dressed quite nicely, but who are you?"
The clad warrior pointed his finger at the druid
" You are dealing with Constable Alyen and I, Orcendro Loman!!"
Splendor helped the sage to a glass of water.
The bard informed with a flashy grin " We had hoped to seek the secretary of your town regarding information about the latest visitations in Tolx."
The constable probed " Who specifically do you seek?"
" There have been many strangers hiding in this town the last few months and most have come from Rokasia." The constable tucked his hand in his vest pocket " In fact, we are arresting one right now out in the village square." Alyen brought out a watermarked paper " What have these thieves stolen? Perhaps you can sign your names to this document and we can talk further." He glanced at the group with fixed boldness
" This covers that you are indeed knights of the King and anything you say will be noted. If we have what you seek, then it will be given over to his emissaries promptly. If you refuse to sign, this conversation ends here and you will be immediately escorted back from whence you came."
