Salimen ducked behind the standby warriors as they waited rigidly by the brook. The troll watched the druid and lorist scramble for the woods before letting out a bothered snort.
The bard started singing an imperial battle tune as a second wave of fierce missiles sunk deep into the grey monsters' rubbery hide.
" We have not the tenacity for a creature like this!" yelled Torynth as he stood there in shock. Seeing no other recourse now, the monk cried
The troll charged with tremendous speed dodging an errant axe thrown by the fighter dwarf. The cleric called forth a blessing from Moradin as the archer intended to thwart the beasts' advance with as many volleys as possible.
The inspired ranger drew his swords screaming
Hebron's bow spent three more arrows into the troll's warted flesh, but they did not, for a moment, impede the monster's jaunt as it bore down upon the bowman.
" You shall not stand you cursed bastard!" Gulius pulled out his trusty battleaxe and jumped into the troll's path. The monster dodged a sweeping cut by Gulius and then, with two tremendous whacks, unmercifully butchered the fighter to the ground. The giant troll let out a low roar as it raised its' axe and jumped at the trio outside the cave entrance!
A sudden flurry of arrows then zinged from Hebron's longbow peppering the beast about the torso.
In a fit of rage, the monster turned and bolted back up the slope with axe held high ready to deal cruel death.
" Stand together men! Stand for the blood of our fallen! Flank him! That is our greatest opportunity for victory!"
" Vile monster! You shall fall this day and the dance of my blades will hold part in your demise!" As Teflar set to run after the giant, the paladin tried to dissuade the woodsman from running foolishly into battle. The spellcasters stood behind the pond helplessly watching the horror take place before them.
