" Well, enough said." spurned the dwarf as he finished the rest of his ale in one gulp, " We will meet at this table at sunrise for some nice sausage links & eggs and discuss our journey further. Nothing will be accomplished tonight with harsh words of anger."
Leah laughed lightly as she watched the dwarf become the sudden ambassador.
Oktavianus tossed a few coins on the table as Teflar got up to make room arrangements for the night.
Gailwind yawned and the wizard was eager to prepare his spells so the travel discussions quickly came to a halt.
Minutes later, Teflar returned with three keys and told the group that they had rooms along the northern perimeter and they could divide into three groups. Oktavianus made amends with Teflar and offered to share with him. Gailwind, Erelis, and Aramil took the second room, while Leah shared one with the monk in the third.
A total of 32 GP was spend that evening and it was divided equally amongst the fellowship.
They left the bar and got to their rooms with a promise that they would rise early and gather for breakfast to finalize their next move.
MYCRAN 8 ¬ 7 AM: The dwarf and ranger rose early and rounded the others up for the anticipated breakfast at a local diner. Aramil had a rough night and plodded along with circles under his eyes. The gang gathered round a large table, ordered a lavish meal to their liking and discussed the day's plans as they waited.
Oktavianus scanned the menu over and over " I propose we go and talk to a warmarshall. I feel all these incidents are related and can be tracked back to the orckish horde. If we compile an army big enough to tackle the strange fortress, we shall find answers about the missing shard."
The wizard shook his head and mumbled words of discord while Torynth twisted his lips in a perverse manner.
Teflar, at first distracted by a passing server's sleek figure, snapped back to the discussion " Not that I disagree with you, dwarf, but I'm interested in why you feel they are related."
The cleric paused as if studying his own thoughts before saying " Orcs remain one step ahead of our efforts to thwart them. They are way ahead of the defenses in Zegithir. We need to act now and fast before they reclaim our west!"
Aramil interjected " This is the same twisted logic we have used from the beginning. We attack rather than analyze clues at our disposal and we have had many." Leah jumped at the mage's hard demeanor.
" Yes I have stayed up all night and scrutinized our every move." The wizard's face was grim " Each choice has led to death; from Nerendil, to Morray, to Vaedamir, to Hebron...all death." Two waitresses placed the breakfast plates before each member as they listened to the mage's frustration. " How sure are any of us that any warmarshall would hear us out and form an army without word from Bethlun?!"
Erelis conveyed " Bethlun would take days to give such an order without a declaration of war already mandated. Even if a Pinedroi plea were to arrive today, the bureaucrats would stall everything. Somehow we would need to bypass all this."
Oktavianus ate his food in such a rapt of unchecked passion, he underclassed the muttiest of dogs. Egg bits bounced from his lips and settled in his uncombed beard " Trust me on this one, okay? We will have what we want when the orcs are dispersed!" He gave no more thought to the matter and again attacked his food.
Gailwind daintily drank a glass of cranberry juice and replied " Let's move then to the court hall and ask if any warmarshalls are available. I noticed they are under orders to manuever back from the Aerelyn Fields and should be here this very afternoon."
It was then decided that the fellowship would find the justice building and locate the leaders of Pinedroi, convince them of their troubles and reclaim Nalmiar from evil humanoids...or so they hoped.
