Aramil quickly loaded a bolt in his crosstock and fired at the orc leading the mass charge down the far mound. The missle split the air sinking deep into the chest of the beast. It toppled over in the mud and, in the process, tripped most of the monsters following on behind! Vines laced around the woodsman's steed and it snorted in protest as the orc yanked upon the bridle in determination. Teflar and Leah both jumped off their saddles landing upon the soft ground preparing to deal with all the orcs in their vicinity. Torynth finished off his foe with a swift kick that snapped its' neck sharply.
Teflar unsheathed his longsword in time to chop the blade into the orc as it grabbed for Leah.
The two entangled orcs struggled madly at their vine trappings until one broke free from its' constraints. It fell back down, however, as another wizard bolt lanced the beast through the right eye. It was clear the mage was in a "zone" as he continued to pump out deadly misslefire.
Aramil yelled as the melee ran full steam " Get up you fools! There are more coming behind them! Let us move now!!"
Teflar switched to his longsword and found another orc in the back of the party slicing it down with strange passion. Aramil stood up sopping wet and met a charging orc with an uppercut to the chin from his quarterstaff.
Just then, six more armed orcs topped the embankment!
Leah swung her quarterstaff missing the orc menacing the horse. In return, she was punched in the mouth by the beast. Her left front tooth flew out and she fell on her ass back into the mud.
The monk cried out to his God as he launched a slingstone at the lone orc not tripped up on the slope. It sailed wide along with two ranger arrows trying to take out any threats nearby.
Aramil loaded another bolt into his crossbow and pressed the trigger with ease. The mark found the lead of the second wave of orcs who had recovered and now viciously charged the quad of heroes. The bolt lodged in the beast's forehead tompling it over into the thick mud.
Torynth turned away from his armed foe once seeing Leah fall over and tried to aid her by attacking the monster from behind. It stood over the druidess as she sat dazed in the mud; blood trickling freely down her chin. Unfortunately, the monk exposed himself and his orc landed a hammer smash into his back. Torynth stumbled a bit, but quickly spun to counter the threat.
"AUGHH! " the beast fell over in a dead heap. The ranger quickly spun around again with his bow only to face the oncoming rush of four orcs. Teflar's arrow pierced the monster's thigh as a hammer clunked down, in return, on his collarbone.
Teflar, however, looked slightly battle-crazed as he and Torynth fought among the half dozen orcs assaulting the troop.
The ranger pierced his arrow point blank right through the chest of his orc while the monk landed a backhand to his attacker's head.
Leah's horse was spooked into running by the commotion and she slowly crawled over to where her tooth lay half-covered by the soft mud.
Aramil twisted away from the two orcs attempting to pound at him with their hammers. A maroon ray shot forth from the wizard's hand at a beast, but it never effected the monster grappling with his steed. The mage eventually fell from his horse into the cushioning sludge when his horse bucked in protest.
