Well Done Girls! Excellent performance today. Great work by both of our goalkeepers. Barabara, I think you owe Penny a donut. The profiles pages will start going up (hopefully) this weekend, and we have a practice Sunday at noon at Esquimalt. See you there!
Latest News Update: March 25th, 2003
Okay, some big updates. Uniforms are in, and team photos are today after school for the yearbook. As is our first game, against Colquitz. The Schedule is up, however please note that our game against Reynolds has been changed to April 8th at Reynolds. Not the 22nd as the website claims. Hopefully after a couple games I can get the scoring leaders and profiles pages back up. Finally, We might have a friendly game at the end of the year against the Alumni. Oh yeah, and I have added two new quiz questions. I suppose 'poll' would probably be a more accurate description. If any of you have a question to add, let me know, and I'll put it up. Good luck today.

Well, let's see. Our Res bottle drive went well, as we earned $150. We'll be having a pizza sale February 11th,and likely a bake sale in March. Practices still on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This weekend Soccergirls go head to head in league play, check the forums for more info. Sitewise, the quiz has been changed, forum tidied, and this year's profiles should go up soon, we're just waiting for Amber and her precious digital camera.
Latest News Update: November 29th, 2002
Tryouts have started for the 2003 season. We are practicing Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until the seasonal field closures. From what I hear, SD61 staff if going to try and keep the fields open as long as the weather remains pleasant. We've had good turnouts so far, and I hope that we'll have a good jump on the opposition come March. In other news, we might try to organize a bottle drive at UVic Residence for mid-december. We'll talk more about this during practice. Finally, after fields close we may be able to used the all-weather field at Hampton Park for extra practices, thanks to the large number of Gorge players at Esquimalt.
Latest News Update: October 4th, 2002
Well, the bottle drive was a success! We raised $250, despite the fact that the cub scouts had canvassed the neighbourhood the day before. Big thanks to all the girls who delivered flyers, with special thanks to Mr. Lang & Mr. Kelly, as well as Dana, Dallas, Rachel, Ali and Kelsey, Jenny, Bridey, and of course Brit.
Latest News Update: October 4th, 2002
We're having our BOTTLE DRIVE on Sunday, October 6th. Cars will be circulating through Esquimalt, Vic West and View Royal collecting bottles and cans at 9am. Money collected will go towards new uniforms and equipment for this year's team. So far, the interest has been very high, with lots of girls coming out to meetings and scrub games.
Latest News Update: September 25th, 2002
Added some new pics from last year's Claremont game to the now-back-up gallery page. Also, we have a bottle drive coming up October 6th. Meeting today after school to sort it out.

Updated Page, changed Alumni page to incorporate last year, added a chat room.
Latest News Update: September 4th, 2002
Welcome Back! I hope that everyone had a good summer. There was lots of great soccer: the Women's U-19 World Cup, World Cup 2002 Korea/Japan, and of course, our 3-1 'consolation final' win over Dunsmuir. Hopefully these will keep us inspired over the coming season. Anyways, down to business. There is a meeting today to take down names, garner interest, etc. etc., after school on the stage. We'll probably start around November, kicking the ball around for fun after school, depending on the condition of the pitch, with final team selection in February/March(?). If you want to play some soccer earlier than that, give me a call or something. John McHale's U-16 Gorge Team may also be in the market for a few new players as well, so if you're interested, talk to Sabina, Jenny, Ali, Bridey, or Brit. I'll do my best to keep updating this page throughout the year, and maybe we can finally get a working team roster page. Get those pictures in! Finally, thanks and good luck to Priya and Kaitie Richardson. Have fun at SMU, girls! See you in the finals!

Lots of news since last update. we're 1-2 after 3 games, and have played really well in all three. With our new uniforms, we're unbeatable. (Including Ally's keeper jersey). Rosa has started adding profiles, and the goals page has been updated. Finally, Kelsey Lang will be joining the team, she'll be at practice Tuesday. See you all there.
Latest News Update: March 20th, 2002
Happy Spring Break! The Schedule is now up! Took long enough to code it all, but thanks to a bit of help from Andrew Sund, you can now see which teams we play, and when we will beat them! This means that the site is as far along as I can take it at the moment... the rest is really up to you. Start sending in pictures to Will, Rosa, or me, and we'll be able to finish the profiles section, and add to the gallery. When that happens, I can finally get rid of that awful "to-do list". A final note: Geocities advertisements have been acting up lately. If you see a script error in your browser window, it's because they have failed to load. When Will gets back from France we'll look at relocating the site to a different server.
Latest News Update: March 14th, 2002
Happy Spring Break! Added another Quiz question, cleaned up Bravenet imaging. Re-opened email link. Redecorated index, added to-do list. Added Scoring Leaders, League Standings, though at the moment neither are particularily interestng. Turned last year's team list into an Alumni page. Hope to add schedule tonight.
Latest News Update: March 16th, 2002
Cleaned up the forum and the quiz. New questions have been posted, so why not give it a go. I will post more tomorrow, around 11:30 or so.
Latest News Update: March 6th, 2002
Major update to come within the week.
Latest News Update: November 9th, 2001
Well, it's November, and you know what that means. Time to start thinking about school soccer! Tryouts will start in February this year, and we hope to get a big turnout. On the serious side, we may not have enough players to go Senior this year, and may have to field a junior squad. I have talked to Mrs. Fortier, and were we to have a junior team, Elexa and any underage grade 11s would be INELIGIBLE TO PLAY. It would have to be entirely 10s and under. Again, it depends entirely on numbers, and if we have only a few senior players, we won't be going ahead. Let us know what you think - Take the poll. Also get out ther and start looking for recruits; exchange students, shy girls, another goalie... anything we can get our hands on. Be strong!
Latest News Update: May 14th, 2001
Updated Scoring Leaders page. Tomorrow is the most important game of the season, at Vic High. We should be able to win, we just have to play well. We're starting to run out of goalies, but surely we'll have one or two left by Tuesday. We still need uniform money in from 3 or 4 people; we'll be coming after those people if they do not pay ASAP. Also, updated standings.
Latest News Update: May 1st, 2001
Updated the scoring leaders page. Added some new pictures. Updated some profiles. Added a new quiz question. Wrote an amusing play in the forum. Good Luck to Shan, Katelyn and Carmen in Quebec. Practice today, and then a week off until our games next Thursday and Friday.
Latest News Update: April 27th, 2001
Well, we won a game. Finally. Parklands had to forfeit, but we would have won anyways. The girls who have not paid as of yet are encouraged to do so. Also, no games next week, but we will still practice Tuesday and Thursday. Start thinking about your selections for most valuable, most inspirational, and most improved players.
Latest News Update: April 19th, 2001
11 New Photos in the Gallery, courtesy of Lee Goudzwaard. Shantel Genest really needs a thank you letter for the legion, so if someone could handle that, it would be much appreciated. Also, we need the $30 from the people who haven't paid for their uniforms yet. We know who you are. Everyone stay healthy!
Latest News Update: April 12th, 2001
The League Standings
are up and ready. Also, we have a new picture of Andrea Morrison in the Photo Gallery. Tough game today against Belmont, hopefully we do well.
Latest News Update: April 11th, 2001
New picture of Elexa, and another 20 or so to come from Caitlin Lloyd and Lee Goudzwaard. Look for an update of epic proportions in a day or two. Also, I'd just like to put out a big thank you to all those who have helped out the team so far, especially Will Hong, Ms. Savage, Ms. Fortier, Sarah Berland, and all the fans.
Latest News Update: April 10th, 2001
Excellent result against Edward Milne, big thanks to Katie Vincent, hope to see more of her in the future. Apparently St. Andrews beat Spectrum 2-1, and Vic High 7-0. Crazy, innit? Buy more Eastergrams.
Latest News Update: April 4th, 2001
We selling Eastergrams today at lunch. A little chaotic, but it seemed to work fairly well... in the future we need people out of classes a little bit earlier to get set up in time. Also, Tomorrow's game will likely be the most difficult of the season (vs LAMBRICK) so everyone be sure to get a good night's sleep. If we play like we did against St. Andrews, we should be able to get a good result.
Latest News Update: April 2nd, 2001
We start selling Eastergrams on Wednesday. All girls are encouraged to meet at lunch tomorrow and help fold the card, tape on chocolates, etc. Also, bring in money. We know who hasn't paid yet, and we really need the money ASAP. Tomorrow's game against Oak Bay should go well. We will get out of School at 2:30 or 2:40 so as to get there in time to have a decent warm up.
Important!
The schedule is up! Everyone please configure your work schedules and whatnot so that you do not miss anymore games! And keep sending in pictures, dagnabbit!
Latest News Update: April 1st, 2001
Happy Birthday Carla Steel! Happy April Fool's Day! All sorts of new stuff this month, so listen up. First off, excellent game against St. Andrew's. The best I've ever seen you girls play. Consequently, there are now Updates to the scoring leaders page, and much celebration and whatnot. I am still trying to track down the league standings, but I know that Claremont lost to Spectrum 5-0. Claremont is supposed to have an excellent junior team, so they will not be able to take advantage of talented tenth-graders like we can. Katelyn should be back for Tuesday, Liz Duncan and Katie, we don't know. The 'meet the coach' page has been updated as well, so be sure to check that out. And please keep sending in pictures! I know there are lots out there. Caitlin Lloyd has some. So does James Stewart. How about a copy of our team photo? Anyways, look for another update later this week.
Latest News Update: March 26th, 2001
We Lost, 6-1. Tough Break. However, our team certainly had the nicer uniforms. Super work to keep going and get a goal back late in the game. Anyhow, Tomorrow we have an indoor soccer practice, and following that a game against St. Andrew's. After the game, provided that we win, there will be an after-game party in Chinatown! Sweet! Also, everyone must bring in $30 by Friday OR ELSE! Also, congratulations to Shantel Genest for her numerous trophies. And Good Luck to Kari, Jessica Walmsley, and Liz McMahon in their BC Cup final this weekend.
Latest News Update: March 26th, 2001
Well! That was a long month! First and foremost, we now have our official schedule. It is posted on the schedule page. I am not sure yet of our May playdates, but we will find out soon. Kick-A-Thon was a big success, it appears that we have raised over $500. This will go to pay for our uniforms, which will likely be at school tomorrow in time for our first regular season game against Spectrum. I will also put up an "Scoring Leaders" page soon, but as I have access to the site only on alternating weeks, updates will be infrequent. Finally, it is worth checking out Caitlin Lloyd's series of comments on life. We will move them to somewhere less incriminating, (Caitlin wins the Debauchery section of the Quiz, by the way) but for now, you can enjoy them in the forum. Well, that's it for now, check back in few days for more updates, game results, and hopefully some new Cool Points.
Latest News Update: March 5th, 2001
Kick-a-thon sheets are out and about, everyone should have a pledge sheet by now, the kick-a-thon takes place March 13th. Go out there and collect those pledges. Congratulations to Andrea Morrison who has collected a lot of pledges so far. Let's see... other news: New picture of Crystal in the gallery, and we find out tomorrow about the results of the commission meeting; we offered to host the league standings on our page.
Latest News Update: March 1st, 2001
Happy March! Season starts this month, exhibition games soming very soon. District commission meeting March 5th, our beloved sponsor Ms. Savage is going. News updates: Tomorrow is an exhibition against the Junior Boys, half-hour halves. Tomorrow also the kick-a-thon pledge sheets should be finished, so everybody get out and get begging. New quiz questions. Fixed the statistics of the quiz, things were getting weird. Some error or something. Took down the picture of Liz unclothed. Also, U-20 CONCACAF Championships Friday and Sunday, I highly recommend checking it out, tickets are cheap.

Right! Welcome to the Esquimalt Girls Soccer
Webpage. As you may have noticed, we've changed addresses. This was due to the
high amount of traffic and keen interest in the guestbook, which has quickly
filled up. Hopefully we've managed to solve the problem with the new guestbook
we're putting up, we'll have to wait and see.
Secondly, all the girls who haven't sent in their pictures yet had better hurry,
as in a week's time the mysterious silhouettes will be replaced by less flattering
images. Check out Loren's page if you want an example.
Finally, there will be a pizza sale or bake sale or exhibition game or something
in the near future, so keep checking this page for updates!
