Seattle Storm Won Their 3rd Consecutive
Road Game.
Another happy day for Seattle Storm as they defeated Detroit
Shock 72 - 59.Both teams had their respective road games
on Saturday night, but Storm players were able to come out on top. They
ran a good defense with double, triple, even quadruple team working against
Swin Cash, who has been fantastics the whole season. Sue Bird admitted
how she was afraid that Cash's great play will be a threat to Seattle
in this ball game. She did show her toughness, even to her former Uconn
teammate, Sue Bird who got poked in the eye.
Kate Starbird is the story of the night. Kate has participated in 3 games as a new member of Seattle Storm, and they have won them all. She contributed 13 points and 7 rebounds off the bench. Lauren Jackson had to leave the game with 6 fouls after scoring 14 points for the Storm, and Kamila Vodichkova also had double digits of her own. And of course, the leader, Sue Bird with 18 points and 5 assists. Sue missed some easy lay ups and jump shots, but she kept her composure to pull out 3 pointers.
The Storm is back on track for the playeammaoffs race against
Portland. They will face the Lynx on July 31st. It will be Sue Bird's
second time playing against her former teammates, Ajsha Jones and Svetlana Abrosimova. So far, Sue's team has won all meetings
against
the other members of the UConn Fab Four and their respective teams.
