Fraggle Rock

Welcome to Fraggle Rock! One of my favorite spots to be little again. When I was a toddler, I started watching
fraggle rock tapes that my mom borrowed from an old friend named Ron Rohman, who use to record them on
his cable TV for his children. I became a fan instantly and grew up singing, "Dance Your Cares Away" with my sisters.

My favorite fraggle of all time is, of couse, Red Fraggle! When I was four my mom put my hair in two ponytails so
I could be just like her. I used to run around the house imitating the way Red moved with her two ponies.
It was fun. My brother and sisters used to make me sing for a tape recorder too. Most of the songs they convinced
me to sing were songs from Fraggle Rock. The one Mokey sings called "Rag Time Queen" was a favorite of mine, and
also, "Try a Little Longer for Your Friends".

I still have a recording of me singing those songs at age four. On some of the Fraggle songs that I didn't know all
the words to, I made up silly little 4 year old mumbling that was extremely funny to my family.

I also have a hilarious memory that I haven't forgotten. Anyone remember "Convincing John?" When I was little I watched
a couple of episodes that I owned which had to do with Convincing John. I remember watching the Fraggle Girl Trio
come up and sing in their beautiful sparkly outfits. My favorite was the green girl. I used to sing along and dance with
that song. Convincing John talked so fast that I would just pretend I knew all the words.

One time I got out two of my cabbage patch kids and one of my sister Carmel's Cabbages named Renita
(which I favored over mine at the time because I was silly). I wanted to dress them up like the Fraggle Girl Trio.
However, I used one of my Cabbage patch kids for my favorite girl. I dressed them up or did their hair or something, I can't
remember exactly, but I acted out that song with my dolls. When Convincing John's part came up, I pretended to know
his part and sounded very funny! My sister Gloriana told me how funny I sounded running around the house doing just that.
We were laghing and joking about it.

When I was littler, I used to draw Red Fraggle and girls with two ponies because I had a big thing about two ponies. I grew out
of the two pony trip when I got older. I think it's really funny how I used to think that way.

When I think I was 5 or 6, I excitedly recieved a surprise from my Mom and Dad that they brought home from the store.
It was a doll of Red Fraggle! You can imagine how excited I was being only 5 or 6 years old.

I found a Wembly doll at "Toys R Us" a year later which was a hard one to find at that time, so I think that's why I got him.
For my 7th birthday I unexpectantly and excitedly recieved "Boober".
Unfortunatly this was my last fraggle I got.

I used to go to Ron Rohman's house where he owned just about all the fraggle dolls including traveling Matt!!!
He did not have Wembly, but niether did I at the time. I didn't have Red yet either. He had a different Red than the
one I eventually got. I now am grateful that I got the one I did because mine looks alot like the real Red with the blond
streaks in her ponytails
She doesn't have ribbons though, so my mom and I are going to give her some.

I hope that one day I'll get to venture down memory lane and see Ron's Fraggle dolls again or find some more of my own
to share with my nieces and nephews!

My mom bought a lot of recorded Fraggle tapes from Ron...ones that I grew up with as a child.
My neices and nephews now watch then and love them!
