Purple Cha-kinale, owned by Tolethven.
Image by Jewel, please do not steal.
Nestled in
her burrow of stone, the clutchmother issues a low, rumbling growl
when she sees you. The breeder had said that it was common practice
to show prospective buyers the mother, and that she would be more
than capable of defending herself and her eggs against any attempted
theft. Seeing the hostile creature before you, it's not a hard thing
to believe.
Despite the
less-than-heartening welcome, you stand your ground and wait. The
female eventually relaxes a bit, accepting that you're not a danger
to her clutch, and stands. Beneath her you can see a small clutch of
mottled eggs. Apparently feeling that you'd gotten a good enough
look, the protective mother settles herself once again on the
precious orbs and watches you silently until you leave.
If you have
already received an uncommonly colored drakkin and make another
offering then your chance at receiving a more common color is high.
They're all equally good fighters, it's just a prideful vanity to
value the rarer colors. Others need a chance, after all.
Since one
parent is an uncommon color, there is a very good chance of one or
more uncommonly colored hatchlings in this clutch.
