Clutch 2

Inrahi's Black Nys'asi x Bronze Denyv'e

Black Nys'asi's clutch hatched shortly after all business between breeder and buyers had been concluded, carefully watched over by the protective mother. Six hatchlings were the result, with one rather sickly albino hatching from a smaller egg. While his siblings were moved from the main house to the breeding house, left to romp and wreak havoc on one another, the weak creature was carefully watched over by a team of experienced healers. It was already bought and paid for. It had to live.

Once almost two months had passed from the hatching of the clutch, the lady breeder deemed it the appropriate time to send for the buyers. They arrived from their various worlds and planes of existence, glad to know that all the young drakkin, even the weak albino, had survived. None of their payments had gone to waste.

Lady Inrahi met all six buyers in her breeding house, where the more active young males were happily engaged in a free-for-all under the watchful eye of their mother. It was quite evident to all of them as they entered that their offerings had not gone to waste. Dressed splendidly in an elegant black and silver silk gown, the lady gave off an aura of wealth that was by no means feigned. A black cloak lined with silvery fur was draped gracefully over her shoulders and held in its silver clasp, exactly over the hollow of her throat, was an enormous black diamond. Adding a blaze of color to all of this were several Fire and Water Opal accessories, including several bangles on one of her wrists and a three-piece hair decoration holding her long, silvery mane. A gold-hilted dagger could be seen discreetly attached to her hip by way of a thin silver belt, its sapphire invisible in the darkness. The final touch was an engraved silver medallion pendant hanging off of the belt.

This extravagance was perhaps enhanced by the fact that all of it came from the people now standing before her, perhaps ruined. Either way she looked lovely and well knew it. The attitude of charming, influential hostess was firmly in place.

"Thank you for coming," she began smoothly. "I realize what an inconvenience it must be for some of you to have traveled here, braving portals that can occasionally prove treacherous. Still, you are here and you are safe, for which we can be thankful. All hatchlings will be awarded in the order that offers were presented, a sound record-keeping procedure. Now, you are all no doubt wondering which of these lovely young predators will be yours."

Gesturing to the snarling, snapping younglings and they wrestled some distance behind her, Inrahi smiled lightly at their antics. "Such activities as they are engaged in surely look like little more than child's play. Believe me, though, that they is so much more. Fighters are born through such play as this, and fighters can be lost without it. Training is a constant struggle with such as these. Control is a lesson hard-learned by even the most intelligent, and discipline harder still. I wish you well, whatever you do with them from this time forward."

Having finished her haughty but informative little speech, the lady called out her own drakkin's name and motioned for her to bring one of the hatchlings forward. Needing no further instruction, Nys'asi gently clamped her teeth around the neck of the bronze and carried him forward. His growls could be plainly heard, but he made no move until he was deposited at the feet of one Melf. The lady shifted her head, opal hairpiece glittering despite the darkness, but otherwise made no other acknowledgement of the woman.

The second hatchling was not retrieved from the pile of frantically clawing youths, but instead trotted forward towards his mother, summons unnecessary. Inrahi's lip curled very slightly as she observed the smaller, weaker albino. One of the buyers bristled at the breeder's obvious prejudice and took a step forward, ready to say something that would no doubt land her in a world of trouble. Before this could happen, the albino calmly approached Tytula and sat down at her feet, looking up at her with wide red eyes.

"As soon as I saw the weakling, I knew it was yours," the lady said with a trace of a sneer, quickly erased. In her opinion Tytula was far too soft to be handling drakkin at all, so this was the perfect solution. She absolutely refused to waste another fighter on the girl. The young trainer looked up at her with an expression of extreme dislike, but was soon too occupied with her hatchling to pursue the matter.

A third drakkin was soon claimed from the group, a young black that twisted and snarled at his mother as if she were an enemy. This one was quickly dropped near Lord Atari Salvatore, who seemed pleased with the apparently combative nature of the creature.

"He is a fierce one," she purred, voice light and oddly lilting. Negotiations were through and a little play was welcome. "Rare and dangerous, to be sure. Worthy of a little extra attention." Her lips curled upwards. "If you are ever in need of advice regarding his training, please don't hesitate to...stop by. Your distinguished company is always appreciated."

The dark-skinned night elf necromancer tilted his head and allowed a slight smile to grace his handsome features. Well.

Smoothly pulled from distraction, the lady watched as the brown was deposited near the wolf-shifter. As the only uncommonly colored drakkin in the clutch - she did not grace the albino with such a title - it was only appropriate that he was given to the representative of the developing empire as a sign of good will. Helevorn eyed the broody little creature warily before making his approach, knowing that his actions would be a reflection on his unforgiving leader and that he daren't mess things up. Inrahi watched with light amusement, by no means disappointed with the shifter.

It was only fitting that the fifth hatchling snatched away from the much-depleted wrestling match be the color of dried blood, a reflection on his buyer. The red watched his new owner with gleaming eyes, cunning visible in every move he made. This was a tricky one and Kekkon would be hard-pressed to stay one step ahead of him during training. The vampire lord grinned as he thought of the challenge, watching the red with a possessive eye. It would be much better than brooding on what could not be changed.

The last hatchling sat next to his mother, looking confused at his lack of playmates. When she made to pick him up as she had the others he gave an angry little sound and tried to evade her. It was in vain, however, as she was quite ready for such a move and grabbed hold of his blue neck anyway. Roniel and his rukel companion watched silently as he was brought to them.

"I trust that the egg you gave me will be hatching soon," Inrahi said, delicately attracting their attention away from the hatchling. "Its shell is quite hard already."

She seemed satisfied with the human's nod and left him to puzzle out the handling of his purchase. Nys'asi gave a loud, authoritative barking growl, effectively catching everyone's eye, and looked up at her lady. The breeder smiled fondly and reached down to delicately scratch the hide on top of her muzzle. The black was indeed pampered for a drakkin, even for a female, but her loyalty and intelligence were unquestionable.

"Once again, thank you all for coming. As is customary, a small package awaits you upon exiting this building. It is filled to the brim with insects that enjoy the darkness of a drakkin's habitat. The drakkin in turn will enjoy the ready source of flavor that they provide as an addition to a healthy meat-rich diet. Please take care of your new acquisitions. I hope to see you all again someday soon."
