"Suddenly into view below came a white horse, gleaming in the shadows, running swiftly. In the dusk its headstall flickered and flashed, as if it were studded with gems like living stars. The rider's cloak streamed behind him, and his hood was thrown back; his golden hair flowed shimmering in the wind of his speed. To Frodo it appeared that a white light was shining through the form and rainment of the rider, as if through a thin veil."
-Fellowship of The Ring, Book One, Chapter XII: Flight to the Ford.

Glorfindel is cooler than Arwen. Why she stole his part in the story, and his horse, we shall never know. Perhaps it was because there were already too many characters. Perhaps Arwen's role needed to be expanded.

Perhaps Arwen tied Glorfindel up in a backroom somewhere because he was prettier than she was.

She should have done the same to Legolas, in that case.

Whatever the reason, the poor lad was cut from the movie, never to flounce his golden locks at anyone in this century. The guy never gets a break, really. He wasn't in the cartoon either. The part went to Legolas in that version. So let's say he was a little ticked. And hey, guess what, we don't blame him! Afterall, he's not alone.

While Haldir got a chance to appear in the second movie when he actually disappears after the first book, his moment in the spotlight is completely shattered when he is unfairly slaughtered at the Battle of Helms Deep--a place he shouldn't even have been at in the first place!

More Elves, of course, are jipped. Elladan and Elrohir, twins, and the sons of Elrond seem to have been cut out all together as well, even though they too travelled the Paths of the Dead and played a part in the biggest battle of the trilogy.

So we joined up with the guys and created How Many Ways Can We Kill Arwen? P.E.T.E. People for the Ethical Treatment of Elves, to take a stand against these horrible crimes against Elvinkind.

Join us, fellow Haldir lovers! Wave those flags, Sons of Elrond fans! Glorfindel groupies? Get yer butts over here! We're starting a revolution!
