Who knew what to expect when Young, Carrie, and I pulled out of the Budget Rental place, in our bright red Stratus... heading to Ithaca and Cornell University. The Car ride was fun in itself as we saw many a barn, silo and cows along the way. =)
Young insisted on taking a picture with us and a barn in the distance, but the picture came out blurry.
if you look carefully, you can see a red barn on the background.
You'd think we'd never seen a farm before... wait a minute!? Anyway, after 6 hours of driving, we finally made it to Cornell... a place so different from our own schools, namely Wellesley (Go Wellesley!) and MIT. With a ravine running through the campus and its many suspension bridges, we knew we weren't in Boston anymore.
It was Jae's idea to make that cheesy pose. It really was! =)
But we had such a great time that weekend (April 3-5), meeting fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, being able to fellowship and worship with them, and touring the beautiful campus of Cornell.
That Friday night, we were so blessed at KBS. The praise team sang with all of their hearts and the joy they had in praising Him was contagious. As the praise leader said, "God is hot..." "So hot!" Amen?!!!! The speaker reminded us to live by His Will and His Time instead of our own. I remember singing "I offer my life" over and over. And the people we met were so friendly and open... thank Christine, Dave, Rich and everyone else who made us feel so welcome. Thank you, Sang for buying us dinner at Friendly's. And Phil , remember when we embarrassed you in front of everyone...how come people at Cornell didn't know you were such a good dancer. Someone from Wellesley said that you danced really well at the Christian dance. So, would you dance for us when we meet again? =) And Carrie and I never thought that we would stay in such a nice place for the weekend. We were prepared for the worst. Thank you for putting us up, Sandy... your place is so cool.
getting ready for a good night sleep in Sandy's clean bathroom
If anything, we learned that Sandy has this really cute fetish for turtles. And thank you to your 5 other roommates for dealing with us all weekend. Thanks for hanging out and laughing with us, Becky. And thanks for playing the guitar and singing with us, Eugene. "Jesus lead on..."
Hey, why is it so cold at Cornell? Carrie, being the all-Korean LA girl, almost froze to death on Saturday.
Thanks Vivian for letting us borrow your warm jackets.
We took the tour; we saw the museum, the unbelievable view from the top floor, the library
and ate at some dining all, somewhere. Thanks Hwan Chul, for treating us with your bonus meals. You know that Carrie used it well. I still remember you staring in awe at Carrie's plate, piled high with rib bones. I get the pleasure of experiencing that all the time. Heehee. And to end off the say, we went to Joy Explosion. What a night! Our friend from Boston, Dave Choi was an amazing speaker (I think we saw more of him there than we do here... why are you so popular, dude?)
James, Carrie, Dave, Jae- um, Dave and Jae... you were supposed to look scary.
and we saw James bustin' out on the Atonements. Praise God!

What a weekend! Church on Sunday, a gourmet brunch with the KBS small group leaders afterwards and hanging out. We gotta give a special shout-out to Jason. You have to be one of the craziest guy I've ever met. "The promised land," huh? Hey, you've always got an invite to Wellesley!
Jason: Carrie, you're my "Moses!" Take me to Canaan!" =)
And two huge thank you's to Jae and James for showing us around. Thanks for chilin'with us. We had so much fun! And sorry guys for taking you away from your studies. Maybe next time I'll bring books... nah!!!! =)
Cornell is great. We wanted to go back as soon as we got home. Take care, everyone. Maybe Young and I will come visit again. Carrie, I'm so sad to say, will be heading back to the West Coast after she graduates on May 29th. And if any of you guys want to visit, my place is always open and I'm always free to hang out. Thanks again and God bless.
