The day after his unfinished match with Ryoma, Fuji found himself at the florist's, perusing the display. This was his favorite store for a number of reasons. For one, he liked cacti, and the store had an interesting selection. For another, it was named after kittens. It was a source of great amusement for Fuji to find flora instead of fauna for sale there.

But he was not looking for amusement today. Instead, he picked up a small potted cactus and smiled at it. Short and rather prickly, it nevertheless exuded its own unique charm. He wondered why he hadn't noticed it before. Cacti fascinated Fuji; they were so cute, and yet so tough, with strong wills of their own. You could never really tell what a shape a cactus might grow into.

He wondered if this one would like being called Echizen.
