In eighteen patients with a brain- stem tumor, examinations of the blink- reflex were also performed in addition to the neurological and neuroradiological ones, such as EEG, CT, Angiography and Ventriculography. In twelve of these patients, it was possible, by means of the blink- reflex examinations, to find out, in addition to anatomical alterations, functional disorders, too. In three patients the blink- reflex were examined before and after the operation of a brain- stem tumor. In this way, it became possible to estimate the extent of the process before and after the operation. The clinical findings were compared in details, to those of the neuroradiological and blink- reflex examinations.
