Q. How do I use Faxaway?

A. Compose an e-mail, then address and send that e-mail to FAXNUMBER@faxaway.com (country and city code included). When Faxaway receives your e-mail, it will open a telephone line to the fax machine that you designate, and send the fax away.

Q. How much does Faxaway cost to use?

A. Faxaway charges for each fax in 6 second increments with a 1 minute minimum. You pay only for transmission time, based on our world-wide rates. Faxing to a fax machine in the United States would cost as little as $0.10.

Q. Are there any "set-up" or monthly charges?

A. No! None! You only pay for the cost of transmitting your fax to its destination.

Q. What is a "monthly limit?"

A. A monthly limit is an amount by which your Faxaway account is usage-limited, on a monthly basis. For example, if you set up a monthly limit of $100, that means that in one month, you could send $100 worth of faxes and no more. Most people set up their Faxaway accounts with no limit.

Q. What is a "prepayment amount?"

A. A prepayment is a pre-paid charge that Faxaway takes from your credit card to allow you to send faxes. You authorize Faxaway to charge your credit card a prepayment amount of your choice (minimum amount $10). In this way, your Faxaway account will always work off of prepayments, and you will see charges in the amount of these prepayments reflected on your credit card statement, corresponding to whenever your credit card is charged. Obviously, we charge your credit card only when previous prepayments have been used up.

Q. How long does it take to set up an account?

A. Account creation takes anywhere from 24 to 48 hours upon receiving registration info during the weekday, and can take up to three days if sent during the weekend.

Q. But can I try Faxaway first, for free?

A. Absolutely. The first fax that you send is free. When you register for Faxaway, you elect a prepayment amount, and this amount is charged to your credit card. At the same time, we credit your account for an additional credit, equal to $5, less the cost of your first fax. For example, if before registering your first fax sent was a one-minute fax to the USA (which would cost $0.10 based on our rates), and if you chose a $10 prepayment amount when you registered, then we would charge your card for $10, and give to you an additional $5-$0.10=$4.90 credit, for a total of $14.90. Once you had used up this amount, we would then charge your credit card for another $10 prepayment (you can of course choose a different prepayment amount).

Q. So how do I test Faxaway?

A. Simply Compose an e-mail and send it to FAXNUMBER@faxaway.com. Make sure to include the country code, city or area code, and fax number. You will receive a confirmation when the fax is successfully transmitted.

Q. Can Faxaway be used for broadcast faxing?

A. Absolutely. Using Faxaway's robust broadcast fax capabilities, users compose, edit and append an unlimited number of broadcast fax groups, containing individual names, companies, fax numbers and other data. Users give each broadcast fax group a unique name. Users take a document, and send it as an e-mail attachment to groupname@faxaway.com, where "name" refers to the unique name of the broadcast fax group. The document will merge with information from the broadcast fax group, before Faxaway sends it to all of the fax numbers in the broadcast fax group.
