Our History and References

I have been a resident of Monroe County since 1972. Between 1970 and 1980 my family owned the Keys Sea Center Marina on Big Pine Key. I helped run the business and also became a certified outboard and stern drive mechanic. In the early 1980's I started a restaurant, "The Serendipity," on Big Pine Key and it is still going strong under a different name. At that same time I started doing construction and remodeling work, and for the last 22 years I have been a State Licensed Contractor; I am in partnership with my wife Carol.

I am currently President of the Florida Keys Contractor's Association, an organization that has been in the forefront of the construction industry in Monroe County. We play an active role in keeping the construction industry alive in this county. I also have for ten years held the positions of Board Member and Treasurer.

I am an active Board Member of the Big Pine and Lower Keys Rotary Club; I was recently voted "Rotarian of the Year" (click here to view the plaque). I am an active member of the Lower Keys Chamber Of Commerce, and a member of N.F.I.B. (National Federation of Independent Business).

I've done estimating work for the insurance companies of: Cigna, U.S. Security, and Liberty for wind and fire damage. After hurricane Andrew, I spent 4 - 5 months in Miami estimating wind and flood damaged on commercial and residential property for Brodski Inc., a state certified public adjuster. Those skills were in demand after the damage left by hurricanes Georges and Irene here in the Lower Keys.

One of the first commercial remodeling projects for T-Builders Inc. was for the Monroe County Building Dept. We remodeled the west wing of the county building on College Rd. Stock Island. Bob Herman was the newly appointed building official at that time. Having worked with Mr. Herman through the years on many construction related issues I rely on him as a character reference for T-Builders Inc.

T-Builders is proud to be a winner of a Certificate of Excellence, from the Historic Florida Keys Foundation, for an historical renovation project in Key West.

T-Builders Inc. is a state licensed residential and commercial building contractor engaged in remodeling, new wood framed homes, concrete custom homes, panelized and modular homes. With a good track record and credit references, T-Builders Inc. is a bonded company and is now bidding public jobs for the county, city and state.

We are an authorized Nationwide Homes builder for the southeast Florida area. Nationwide is the only company in south Florida with structural engineered 2 story modular that meet 160 m.p.h. wind load. The company does townhouse units from duplexes to multi single family housing projects. These units are also meeting the need for multi-assisted care unit for the elderly consisting of 30 to 40 unit projects. They also serve as commercial buildings such as banks, reality offices, strip malls, etc.

T-Builders Inc. will complete by 2004 a 118 unit affordable housing project in the Key Largo area. The 118 unit project called "Tradewind Hammocks" consist of 2 and 3 bedroom multiplex townhouses.
