World History – Mr. O’Donnell

For this project, it is strongly recommended that you find partners that are dependable!!!

Requirements are not negotiable! Follow the directions and criteria for the project.

Requirements...

1. You may have a group of 4 (no more!!!) If you want to work alone...you will still be required to complete the full project. I suggest that you get the phone numbers of partners.

2. Construct a castle - the construction can be of any material.

a. try to build your castle to scale

b. minimum of one typed page explaining the lay out of the castle (ie. rooms)

c. find information on the internet (search: castles)

1. the castle will be graded by... originality of design, difficulty of the design, neatness of construction, and overall appearance of the castle

3. Construct family shields - the construction can be of any material.

a. use the designs from members of your group

b. define the meanings of the family names and shields in your group

c. if someone does not have a direct crest or shield, create one with definition

d. also include the shield from the royal family that your group is researching

4. 5 page typed research paper of any ruler - in your own words!!!

a. cover page / title page

1. with picture or drawing of ruler

2. including names of people in your group

3. class period

4. date

b. body of research should answer

1. how did they come to power

2. area or country they ruled

3. how long was their reign

4. other family members in power

5. important events and dates

6. impact on history

7. how did they lose power

5. Oral presentation - can be one person or split up among the group.

a. present castles

b. present shields

c. present researched ruler and history

d. 10 - 15 minutes in length

1. graded on organization, knowledge, clarity of speech, and any visual aids to enhance presentation
