Reiki is a method of channelling the natural energies that surround us and permeate us.
This ability is conferred upon people by a series of attunements or initiations. This energy is called Ki or Chi or possibly many other things in other disciplines. Many people have been inspired by the energy to start their own brand of Reiki, despite the fact that the vast majority stem from Mikao Usui's teachings. The exceptions are Seichim, Seichem, Sekhem, Sekkem & SKHM. These all stem from an experience that Patrick Zeigler had in 1980 in the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid, where he received a spontaneous attunement into Seichim as he then called it. Seichem later became Sekhem and then SKHM as his knowledge expanded and his teaching methods changed. He originally used Reiki attunement methods to pass on the energy abilities. Sekkem stems from an spontaneous attunement, that David Walker received in Spain in 2002.
