Ladies vs. King's U15s

I never thought the reoprts section would see this...A ladies LOSS. Yes a LOSS in the local league. Having only 5 players, and having to pick a random player from somewhere else in the sportshall (thanks for playing Emma?) the ladies were behind for most of the match, losing 3-2. Just goes to show, there IS a first time for everything

Men vs. King Alfreds

Already virtually assured of not being relagated we were feeling confident, and won 4-1. We turned up late, but the opponents even later. After winning the first set, we let it slip in the second, before an injure to the opposition forced them to concede.

Ladies vs. Thunder

A win that practically guarantees the ladies of 1st place. Dodgy at times they one it 3-2. Lucky? Possibly

Men vs. College

A must-win match against what is APPARANTLY the weakest team in the league, missing some of their most valuable players. I wasn't there, but we went up 3-0, before some "experimentation", winning overall 3-2. Phew...

Men vs. Breezers

This was terrible. Against a stronger Breezers side we still could have won the match. Having set points in virtually every set, we lost it 5-0 and quickly want to forget about it

Ladies vs. Wonford

A win again? Surely not! Yeap, the ladies comfortably saw off their opponents with a comfortable 4-1 victory, whilst George and I played with magnets...

Men vs. ADDS Wanderers

A dismal game that I don't particularly want to go into. We lost 3-2.

Men vs. College

Looking to continue our run of wins at the end of last year we went into this match full of confidence, and duely took the first set. However, service errors slowly crept in and we lost the next three and the match. College then completely changed their line-up and we were able to take the last set comfortably. Nevermind, first game back. We'll do better in the home fixture. We lost 3-2.

Ladies vs. Wonford

Not as comfortable as it could have been, but the ladies secured another with nevertheless. Using all their line-up they won 4-1 with good play from everyone involved. Why does Susie serve with her fist??

Ladies vs. College

Yet another emphatic victory. Whilst the men sat back and admired the ladies' volleyball skills the College team were quickly dispatched. Hard luck to Gemma who had to watch from the sidelines, but a great performance by everyone involved. 5-0 it was.

Men vs. Torexe Breezers

Oh yes...OH YES! Yet another victory, our 3rd on the trot (including BUSA). The men are on fire. After stunning Torexe by taking the opening set from behind, we did exactly the same in the 2nd and 3rd, to take the first three sets 3-0. Great hitting from Omar helped us on our way. At 2-0 up, Dan and Orso were introduced, and we grew stronger, winning the match set. George came on in the 4th and played well. Perfect setting from Ben allowed us to close out the game 4-1 and record a great victory. He also won Player of the Match

Ladies vs. Wander Women

The away fixture against the team the ladies played the week before. I have NO idea what it was like, but they won 5-0. Well done girls!

Ladies vs. Wander Women

Without their captain, the ladies went about their usual demolition process, taking the 1st three sets. A laughter fit in the 4th caught them out, and they lost it, but took the 5th to win 4-1

Men vs. Wonford

WE WON!! WOOHOO! Not bad, not bad at all. It could have been better though. WE great support from the ladies and an enthusiastic bench we looked to avenge a poor away performance against Wanderers. Rallying from 2-1 down, we took the 4th and 5th sets (though not without some scares along the way - service errors spring to mind) to win 3-2. Congrats. to abrice for getting Man Of The Match

Men vs. ADDS Wanderers

Slighty put off by the confusing ladies match beforehand, and having to call a team together last minute (my fault), we lost the opening two sets in dismal fashion. However, we soon found our feet and took the next two sets comfortably. The 5th was a close affair, and we found ourselves with a couple of match points. We didn't take them, we lost. Ho hum - 3-2

Men vs. FP Kings

Billed as our hardest match of the season (excluding the away fixture), this match was surprisingly close, and a match we could have won. Straight from the off we made as much noise as was physically possible, and our opponents seemed a bit put off and disorientated. At 2-2 we looked to finish the game in our favour. However, we lost early points and lost the match 3-2. Nevermind, a great effort all round, and we'll win the return leg

Ladies vs. FP Queens

Another close match that went our way. The men arrived at Exeter School to see the ladies finishing off the final set, ending up 3-2 winners. A BIG 'Get well soon' to Kate who was injured during the match

Ladies vs. Torexe Thunder

A match that was MUCH CLOSER THAN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. After winning the opening set, the ladies went 2-1 down, only to bounce back to take the match 3-2 in the final set. Gemma (the setter) won Man Of the Match, whilst May hit some excellent front-court shots. No ball was left, and the ladies were diving all over the place - never giving up! Make some noise though! please!!

Men vs. Wonford

A dissappointing end to a game that should have been ours from the word go. We had our strongest lineup available and duely took the first two sets quite comfortably. We then fell to bits, losing the next 3 to lose the match 2-3. Great back-court play from Stefan, who didn't put a single pass wrong and was definately the most consistant on the team. We failed at the front though, quite a change from last week. Too many simple balls to the opposition allowed them back into it. On a lighter note, I somehow got Man Of The Match. Wahey!! Another 12-odd and I'm sorted!

Ladies vs. Kings U15

A great result for the ladies in their first match, against a determined Kings' squad. Good serving from Els got us started and from then on we played well. After a small scare in the 3rd (or 4th) set the ladies took the match 5-0. Well done!! Make some noise next time...but not on the bus.
