• Coming into this tournament I hadn't played YJ since Deciphercon and I hadn't bought any of the new Duel of the Fates cards yet. So I decided to play the same decks I used at deciphercon Tanks and Jedi-Blaster Rifles. I figured that my tanks would get smashed by the anti-tank cards in DotF but I didn't have anything else as good as tanks. For the lightside it was the Jedi Council members for Red and Blue dots and high destiny cards for the other dots.
  • Game 1 Michael Porter's Jedi with Matching sabers against the tanks. I think I started the game at naboo but all I had in my hands were tanks with no weapons at all. I lost naboo pretty quick and at the next planet after a couple of turns a force push finished me off for a -30something differential. But losing here was definitely a good thing. 0 -30something
  • Game 2 Light side against the Porters' friend who has never played before but has decks made by the Porters'. He was playing a Dark Jedi deck but I had drawn excellent destinies the entire game. This was a very close game that went down to just a few seconds left in round but I managed to win with a deck victory for 8 dif. 2 - something
  • Game 3 and 4 were both solid wins for me and I can't remember any thing about them except my foes names Will and Kevin. 6 VP's and some low differential.
  • Game 5 Tanks against Mitchell Velasco's deck of Rick Olie deck Mitch like myself hasn't bought any of the new cards but he is a good player and gives me a good run. He manages to get awesome destiny draws and ties my tanks for a several turns until I finally kill Ric Olie and win the game.
  • 8 VP's and a rising differential. Right now I am in second place behind Christel Porter's10 VP and all of the top players were the dark side so I play Mitch again. All I have to do is win and I am in the finals because nobody else has 8 VPs
  • Game 6 Jedi-Blasters against Mitch's Thermal Detonators Don't really remember much about this game, as I was to excited about the possibility that I may go to the finals. I did win this game and secured my spot in the finals.
  • So the final match is Christel Porter-Keefer and I. She has the higher differential and decides to play her dark side deck first. I think she played a Naboo location first. And she goes to get an effect. She goes first and deploys. My hand is crap so I just put out 2 C-3P0s and even up. S reveals and it is the Droid Dekas effect and some destroyer droids. I get some ships fighters into hyperspace and surrender the planet and go to the Jedi Council she gets and effect. I end up tossing my hand like 2 times. She surrenders the planet I think and then we go to the DLS and she gets an effect. She wins by deck victory by six. 0-6
  • Next game She goes first with the DLS and gets an effect. I deploy tanks but I didn't have any guns. She is using the Royal Guard effect and Royal Guards and Panaka. Basically the game is a stalemate because I hardly ever drew open fire. Finally I won the site with ten cards in my deck and both of us started to pick up our cards thinking I had won. Then Michael says what about the other planets. D'oh. We hadn't battle on any other planet yet. Christel couldn't find her hand so we decided to start again.
  • Game 2.5 I go first and chose Naboo and then win the planet after she surrenders after a turn or too. She held her own against the tanks and I surrender we are both down a few cards. The next planet was the senate and the battle was fierce but I ended up wining by 8 cards to become the Florida State Champion.
  • Final results 2 Victory Points and 2 differential. For prizes about 10 packs and a State Champion deck bag Final thoughts: I had a lot of fun playing and want to get my hands on the new cards.
  • The droid dekas cards are strong but my Jedi held up with nothing but blaster riles. Magic bullets ain't worth squat if nobody uses them.
  • Why is Decipher releasing Jedi Knights when it has a better game right here? Hopefully deciphercon is in Florida again so I can go. John Berke.
