Title: Rescue the Princess

When I first seen this Objective, I yelled "Way Cool". Then after my wife yelled at me for waking the kids up from their naps, I started thinking strategy(someone smell smoke). But seriously Decipher made cards that follow the movies more closely, and I couldn't wait to play with these cards. In Starwars:A NEW HOPE, rescuing the Princess was my favorite part of the movie. Now with this Objective I can accomplish this by playing the coolest card game around. My first thought when I seen this Objective was to 1.)Rescue Leia 2.)Revolve Yavin sites (for force draining and cool text like the the 'War Room')and 3.)Play with the new <>sites deployed to Yavin system, like the swamp, jungle, you know the ones 'Ithorians' love to hang out at. Well this did not follow the movie that closely. Although many of you may find cool and easy ways to use this strategy, to do it and follow the movie it's not so easy. I was detemined to find a way to follow the movie as close as possible. Yes that's right, I am talking about 'Attack Run'. Lets talk about problem #1. Well we need to do it in only 60 cards. Ok, maybe not a problem, why don't we do a break down of what is necessary. First we need the Objective card, plus all the ones it says we have to pull from our reserve deck. That means Leia of ability <4 (Princess Organa, Leia Organa, or Jedi pack Leia) the 'Death star:Detention Block Corridor','Death Star:Docking Bay 327', 'Yavin 4:Docking Bay' and 'Yavin 4:War Room'. So far we have 6 cards in our deck, now lets move on to other necessities. To release the Princess, only certain cards will work. I decided to use 'I'm here To Rescue You' and '8D8'. Notice that to use IHTRY you need a spy and both a spy and '8D8' cannot deploy to the Death Star as per the Objective. So you need to deploy them both to the 'Yavin 4:Docking and move over to the Death Star. That makes it a little harder, but not impossible. Ok lets think(sizzle), if we need these cards how many should we have to make sure we rescue early. I would say at the very least two of each copy. Ok now which spies should we use and how do we keep up with opponents force drains elsewhere? With this dilemma I chose 'Bothan Spy'. They are non-unique and spies and ability 2 characters with good game text, hence 'Bargaining Table' and 'Nal Shada Wind Chimes'. Other MUST cards is at least two light side 'Death Star', one 'Death Star:Trench'(since your Rebel Tech can take this site into hand), three 'Rebel Tech', and since you can't deploy the light side 'Death Star' without 'Death Star Plans' then add two of those. Ok lets look at our deck so far:

Objective:
Rescue the Princess/Sometimes I Amaze Even Myself

Locations:
Death Star x2
Death Star: Detention Block Corridor
Death Star: Trench
Yavin 4: Docking Bay
Yavin 4: War Room

Characters:
Princess Organa
Bothan Spy x8
Rebel Tech x3
8D8 x2

Effects:
Bargaining Table (start with this)
Death Star Plans x2

Interrupts:
The Signal (start with this to pull out Bargaining Table)
Nal Shada Wind Chimes x2
I'm Here To Rescue You x2

Epic Event:
Attack Run x2

Now look at that, so far we just used up 33 cards in this deck. So lets finish it with some defense and strength and other necessities. Well we need to defend the Bothans with a little more power and we need to make sure Leia survives long enough to get to the War Room. That's where 'It's a Trap' comes in. This card will cancel a battle. Plus 'Lift Tube Escape' will help. Also can use the 'Lift Tube Escape' card to get the 'Lift Tube' out of your deck, then put it back toward the end of game. Plus even more we need strong Characters, so use 'Obi-Wan with Lightsaber', (this is an EPP main), or any other Obi-Wan that you have. Might as well have 'Undercover' or two in here too. Ok now we might ask ourselves? How are we going to get to the Death Star system? Ok, ok I am starting to get silly. Really now, we have some options to get over there. We have the 'Yavin 4' system, even the 'Bothawui' system, and then there is 'Tantive 4'. Well for this deck why don't we use the 'Bothawui' system and 'Yavin 4'. Now I suggest that if you already have the 'Bothawui' system deployed then do not deploy 'Yavin 4', because you really don't have the strength in this deck to defend it. Now you may be asking then why not just put two 'Bothawui' systems in the deck? Well once again I don't want to get to far from the movie story line. All right lets move on, we need ships and pilots that will help an 'Attack Run', and More Yavin 4 sites to increase the chances, especially the new 'Yavin 4: Massassi Headquarters'. Lets not forget something vital to make this work, its called 'Proton Torpedoes'. Plus another defense card to use is 'Fallen Portal' that works in Docking Bays. And last but not least I through in an 'On the Edge', this may come in handy since you may be losing force from other means in this game. And if you didn't hear this already, or read it in your own NEW GLOSSARY, then you will read it now. What am I talking about? Well we can now count our reserve, force, and used piles. So setting up the right destiny for 'On The Edge' or the 'Attack Run' Itself will be easy, if you use 'Traffic Control that is. Now lets look at the REST of the deck:

Locations:
Yavin 4: Briefing Room
Yavin 4
Bothawui

Characters:
Obi-Wan with Lightsaber x2
Luke Skywalker x2
Biggs Darklighter
Wedge Antillies
Tk-422

Interrupts:
Lift Tube Escape x2
Fallen Portal x2
It's A Trap x3
On The Edge
Old Times
Your All Clear Kid!

Vehicle/Starships:
Lift Tube
Red 5
Red 2
Gold Leader in Gold 1

Weapons:
Proton Torpedoes x2

Effects:
Traffic Control

Well there it is. I hope you have fun with this. Note that you have to wait until the card flips befor you complete the Death Star Plans. So Rescue the Princess as soon as possible, we need the plans, yes we need to destroy the Death Star. Remember if you can make an Attack Run work the dark side will lose a total of 22 force!!! Even more than that if they give you more Death Star sites. Well it may seem a lot to do in one deck, but I know it can be done. If you to can accomplish all that this deck requires then you will have the right to say: "Sometimes I Amaze Even Myself".
