Title: TUSTIN TOURNAMENT REPORT

Well here is the tournament report I promised. There was 7 of us here from Las Vegas who went down to Tustin to play in this Tournament. It was a huge turn out. There was 84 people who show up and the 85th person came during the first game. I will give this report through my eyes, and through what happen during my games. For my light side I played NEW school Mains and Toys. My dark side I played ISB with a lot of ORS.

Those of us that came were Chris Hines, Brad Bedlion, Preston Pendergraft, Kris Lavigne, Dan Christy, John Spadora, and myself(Tim Guzman). When we got there it was kind of raining, but the sun came out soon enough. I felt good and was ready for the competition. There was a lot of High ranking people there. After all first place prize was well worth it. In fact 5 out of 8 people I faced had 1750 rating or above. Well here is what you are waiting for so I will get to it.

Game 1: My ISB vs Some Kids first Tournement 'We called him DONKEY' his rating:1500
Well I had a horrible draw during this game. But that didn't matter because this poor kid didn't make any good decisions. His starting location was Yavin 4:Docking Bay, so that only told me this is going to be easy. He had maybe only 4 rares in his whole deck. I even was nice enough to remind him of his characters game text. Anyway full win by +33
2(+33)
Highlights: Well not much except I won by 33 even with a bad draw.
Lowlights: His voice was ear piercing.

Game 2: My New School MnT vs Dark Side Musicians(I don't know this guys name, so sorry)his rating:1650ish
I had a good draw in this game. I put down the farm with Ben and a monk on second turn. Yoda is at his hut so I feel confident. The only thing he did for his first 5 turns was take my drains and Draw. Then I drew Grimtaash and he had like 20 cards in hand so I felt good about using it. When I did I saw then that he was playing musicians, and out of all those cards I only got one dupe. I looked down and noticed how much he was going to activate and thought to myself that this is not good. Ben was at the farm and I couldn't move him because of lack of force. Melas and a Monk and Twass was in the AC and I new they were going to get hit. Sure enough his turn he Deploys Jabba then Greeta, then Lyn Me, then Fett for free, and all other musicians he had in his hand. It was ugly, with Lyn Me text my power was reduced to zero. I lost all cards at that site plus 18 force. Hence I lost that game. Full Lost -13
2(+20)
Highlights:I was taught to never play without Houjix.
Lowlights:I made a mistake to play grimtaash. If I saved my force I could have move Ben for more Back up.

Game 3: My ISB vs John Spadora's Light side Mains his Rating:1600ish
Well I did not want to play someone I came with, but it happens. My starting Draw was not that bad. I had control most of the game. Flipped ISB soon. But He managed to Flip it back. A battle againts Han is what I think lost the game for him. Full Win +30ish(I can't Remember)
4(+50ish)
Highlights:Deploying a ISB and Vader to Light side War Room and Battling and Drawing two 5's.
Lowlights: Playing someone I came with.

Game 4: My LightSide vs Josh's Hunt down Deck, his Rating:1750
Wow I had a Great Draw. Ben and his stick and a revolution. First Turn I deploy Leia with weapon to his Third Marker. His Turn he uses all his force to Deploy DLOTS with Saber. It took a lot of force since I start with Goo Nee Tay. My Turn I nabrien Leia to Holotheatre. Cancel Visage and Force drain there. Then use Revolution on Med. Chamber. His turn he Elis vader where leia is, I Quite a Mercenary. Basically I had Control of this game. Full Win +32
6(+80ish)
Highlignts: It was a fast game, afterwards I had a chance to use the restroom. This is something you did not need to know.
Lowlights: It was a fast game, I had to wait a while until I played again.

Game 5: My ISB vs Kris Lavign's Sabacc his Rating:1775
Well what is up with this I had to play yet another person I brought to the Tournament. Well I had a decent draw. I don't think he did through. I kind of know his deck a little, so I start with Secret Plans. He was not playing sabacc like a true gambler because I think he lost most of those. DLOTS was in control most of the game. When I grab Sabacc with "Hell to Pay" that ended that. Full Win +30ish?
8(+110)I remember my total at this point
Highlights: Lunch was after this game. Not that there was much food left.
Lowlights: Once Again playing someone I know with my best deck.

Game 6: My Light MnT vs Kevin Shannon's ISB ORS deck almost like mine. His Rating:1800ish
When I saw ORS I thought this is going to be tough. I was right. Obi-Wan and his stick missed a swing twice when Targeting. And that is how the game went I had bad draws most of the game. I did a late come back but it was too late by then. Full Loss -15
8(+95)
Highlights:Lossing to a deck I respect.
Lowlights: Not Preparing for a deck I should know quite well.

Game 7:My light MnT's vs Matt's Old School Mains SAC deck. His Rating:2071
He came all the way from Connecticut so here is a loyal player. I had a good draw. He starts with Jabba Palace's. On his first turn I get to verify his deck because the AC was not there. He then deploy the Ice Plains. My first turn I revolution the Ice Plains to begin my Choking. He gets vader out, but doesn't last long. I deploy Oola to cause even more headaches for him. Things were just not looking good for him. On one turn when I didn't Oola he Deploys Vader for 11 Force, two from Goo Nee Tay, one from Restriced Deployment and two from H'nemth. He battles and draw a one(which is a two with Darth Vader). My Characters all immune because Yoda is at his Hut. It was a Fun Game, for me anyway. Full Win +21
10(+116)
Highlights: Winning a Game againts someone with a Huge Rating. And watching all his SAC not Work.
Lowlights:Not any during this game.

Game 8: My ISB vs James Lafferty's Hidden Base x-wing Swarm his Rating:1970ish
Well this was the last game I had to win this one. My ISB Deck was undefeated since I built the deck so I was confident. Things were kind of even for a while. But I could not probe his system for the life of me. He had 8 system out and I Probe seven of them. Guess what, his Hidden base was the one I didn't Probe. My ship died a horrible death to the x-wings. He retrieve with 'All Wings'. Then after that he convert his x-wings with x-wings squadrons, to put even more cards in his used pile. I can still here his answer to my force drains:"Cancel, Cancel, It's A hit, It Could be Worse, and Rebel Fleet." That Sucked. Full Loss -28
ENDED TOURNAMENT AT 10(+88)
Highlights: Nothing.....
Lowlights:There was a lot during this game....I still can't believe that I didn't Probe the base.

Well We all had Fun. If I won that Last game by only one card I would have came in 6th, If I won that game by only 24 I would have came in 3rd. But as it was I came in 15th Place out of 85 people so I have to be happy with that. I will be looking forward to big ones like this soon.

Here is how Las Vegas Players did to the best of my Memory:
Tim Guzman 10(+88)
Brad Bedlion 10(+47)?
Chris Hines 8(+50ish)?
Kris Lavigne 8(+ISH)?
Preston Pendgraft...I don't remember I just know you were above the ones below.
Dan Christy 6(??)
John Spadora 6(??)

The Winner of the Tournament was Named Eric Bruen.
