(Strategy)
After seeing the sheer power of Destroyer Droids, which
are now at its peak - thanks to DotF - i decided to take
a look at their cousins, the Battle Droids.
While not nearly as powerful as the Destroyers, i believe,
Battle Droids should not be underestimated, nevertheless.
Heck, Matt Reed played one of those decks to the finals
of the first World Championship ! (Ok, this was a no-brainer,
but still ....)
Sadly, this Decktype did only gain three new cards in the
last to sets, including DotF : OOM-9 Battle Droid Commander,
OWO-1, Battle Droid Command Officer and the BC Battle Patrol
- Change of Tactics, in my opinion one of the most versatile
battlecards since Negotiations/Sea Killer, completes this
package.
(Hopefully the Battle Droids will gain a BC similar to Its
a Standoff ! in the near future !)
But enough the rant, here are some hints on strategy :
This deck in centered arround Naboo and Tatooine - I chose
this planets, because Tatooine is not the first incentive
anymore, save for Anakin, who is at least temporarily subsided
by the new Panaka-Queen and Bravo Pilot/ Coruscant Decks
- for Naboo, i elected the Battle Plains, as this will rob
the Light Side of most of their boni. Coruscant is to dangerous
with all the Guards, Queens, Jedi and Senators floating
arround.
I even added some Wildcard -Tanks for variety - the new
effect wont be a problem here, as it is the Battle Droid
wearing the Weapon, and even with Boomas or Jar Jar the
little Droid is the only one biting the dust.
Battle Droid Patrol will help in fightin all those nasties,
may even give Anakin something to chew on !!!
One last Tip : If you see them fishing for Pounded Unto
Death, withold your tanks and play the weapons on your second
(cards-face up) turn, that way, you wont loose them too
early !!!
