Evanescence Biography...
Evanescence means a sudden dissipation or disappearance like vapor. Evanescence first started forming near the end of the 90's. As you may of noticed the band did not fit the mold of a modern band if any previous bands. With Amy Lee in vocals and Ben Moody on guitar they started releasing EP's on CDR's. Evanescence quickly gained popularity with there local public, this was kick started by there second song 'understanding' as it was often played on there local rock station. Ben Moody has described this song as being a ridiculous seven minute Goth anthem. "Arial Narrow">Although band members Amy Lee and Ben Moody could not afford to play a show there popularity increased rapidly. There first CD not CDR that was sold was Origin in 2000. Origin contains tracks which have been later changed slightly and moved onto there latest album Fallen.  Evanescence was formed when Ben Moody met Amy Lee at a youth camp in there early teens. Amy was playing the piano and Ben was able to get Amy to sing for him. Ben Moody convinced Amy Lee to form a band with him. Since that day the band has kept to a theme of dark, introspective themes of death, despair, desperation, despair an love. The band still claims that its message is positive. "The point of this whole record and band is to let people know that they’re not alone in dealing with bad feelings or pain or anything that they go through," says Lee, who pens most of the words. "That’s life and that’s human. They’re not alone, and we’re going through it, too." Whilst evanescence music is dark it brings to life a message in an album that has been long missing from modern bands. "Arial Narrow">Fallen is evanescence's first CD sold to a wide range of costumers. With producer Dave Fortman behind them they have been able to create an album with heavy distorted guitar with meaningful lyrics sang by Amy. Evanescence now plays as a 5 person band with band members lining up as follows.

  -  Amy Lee - Vocals

  -  Ben Moody - Lead Guitar

  -  John LeCompt - Guitar

  -  Rocky Gray - Drums

  -  Will Boyd - Bass Guitar
