When lovers do depart
A day, an hour, five minutes past
Time makes no difference to our hearts.
What do we do
To numb the pain?
We wait and yearn for their return
Or try to fill the emptiness.
Some fill the void, yet some do wait
Of those who fill, some crave the flesh
Yet others with to calm the mind.
But nothing can replace
The loss, if only for a day,
Of that love gone away.
