Ikari, Gendou
Shinji's father. Gendou is the commander of NERV, or the branch of the government that constructs and cares for the Evangelion Units.
Gendou is a very cold-hearted individual who abandoned Shinji when he was a little boy. Upon their first meeting in years,
Gendou does not try to embrace or care for Shinji. Instead, since there is a crisis with the third angel, he tries to con Shinji into piloting Eva unit 01.
This succeeded, and Shinji killed the third angel... Well, at least, his Eva did. Gendou's only true interests are his late wife, Yui Ikari, who died mysteriously,
and the process of instrumentality.
