Suzuhara, Touji
The Forth Child. Touji started off in the series as what seemed like a bully. He was
complaining about how his sister had gotten injured while Evangelion Unit 01 destroyed the third angel. When he found out
that Shinji was the pilot, Touji just went up to Shinji and punched him in the face. However, an episode or two later, they become
friends. Touji's life as an Evangelion pilot was short-lived. When his Eva was being transported to NERV Japan, it became infected with a
slimy substance that took over the entire Eva. This turned Evangelion Unit 03 into the Thirteenth Angel. Shinji did not know who the pilot
of the Eva was, but he knew that someone was inside the Eva, and therefore he refused to fight it. Gendou then switched control of the eva to the Dummy
Plug, which made Shinji's Eva destroy the Angel. Unfortunately, Touji was severely injured during this battle, and from that point on he is not
seen in the series until the very end.
