I have had companion dogs for over the past twenty

five years, but have only been interested in showing

and breeding for the last five.

Seven years ago, my husband Les and I bought a golden

retriever. We took her to obedience classes and this

got us interested in showing her in obedience

at the dog shows.

At this time we joined the Nippissing Kennel Club and

met many other people who were dedicated to dogs.

A couple of years later, Virginia Cunningham,

one of the club members, invited us to her home

for Thanksgiving dinner. She had a sweet little

Yorkshire Terrier female that had been returned.

The former owners had a new baby and could not

take care of her anymore. Well this cute two

year old Yorkie just won our hearts. Virginia said,

if we would give her a loving home, we could

have her. Needless to say we took her home.

As I learned from Virginia how to care of her

coat etc. I became interested in showing her.

Over the years Virginia has taken me under her

wing and showed me how to show, care and groom

for shows.

I started my breeding program with that first

dog. Now I am totally hooked on breeding and

showing the Yorkshire Terrier. I have since

purchased a male from Virginia, of Wingborn Kennels

and now have a start on breeding my own line.

I want to thank Virginia Cunningham for all her

help in getting me started with this loveable breed.

Sincerely. Janet
