| Chapter 11 Once I got out to the waiting room I was amazed. The whole waiting room was filled with cast and crew members. They all had shirts on that said "WE HAD TWINS" in big bold letterering. There were also piles of home made cards, store bought cards, baby clothes, bottles, pacifiers, and much more things that fans had brought when they found out that Evelyn had gone into labor . George was standing in the middle of the waiting room passing around cigars to everyone. When he saw me he came over and hugged me. "So dad, how are they?" He asked as he grinned at me. I laughed and smiled at the 'dad' comment. "They are doing great! Aiden came out first and he weighs six pounds nine ounces, and Maddy weighs 6 pounds five ounces. They are in the nursery, you all should go see them. We should be able to take them home tomorrow. I can't believe you all are here." I said as I looked at everyone. "When you guys told me I stopped shotting and we all came down. Do you like the shirts? I think I might have bought the last of them from the gift store." He said as he tugged on his shirt. Then he grabbed another shirt that was draped over the arm of one of the chairs. "This is yours. I got one for Evelyn too." He said as he held up two shirts. One said "Call me DADDY" and the other said "MOMMY's little ones." I took the shirts from him and put mine on and everyone started to cheer. "Thank you so much." I said as I hugged him. "Your welcome and I have decided to finish up all the scenes that you are not in first and then in about three or four weeks we'll get your scenes done. So don't worry about that. Take your time and and enjoy the time off because I ma going to work you to the bone" He said. "Thanks, I will. They are so beautiful, I can't wait till you guys see them." I said. For the next 20 minutes I walked around and talked briefly with everyone that came down. They all congratulated me and told me to give Evelyn their love. Then one by one they all started to leave. It really meant a lot to me to have all of them down here. I kept checking in on Evelyn to make sure she was fine and that she was still asleep. "I don't know about anyone else but I want to see those babies." Natalie said as we were sitting around talking. Everyone but Nat, Ewan and Geaorge had left. "Yea, lets go." Ewan said as he stood up. We walked down to the nursery, and when we got there they brought the babies to the window letting everyone see them. The nurse inside motioned for us to come in so we all went in and put on those blue shirts to keep the germs away. Aiden had on a little blue outfit and a light blue cap. The nurse wrapped him up in a blanket and handed him to me. Then she handed Maddy to Natalie, and she sat down on a rocking chair. "Oh my gosh, they are so adorable." She said as she rocked Maddy. A nurse gave her a bottle and she fed her, but she wasn't very hungry, which the nurse assured us was perfectly normal. "I know. I feel so bad because Evelyn really hasn't seen them that much. She only saw them both for about five minutes before they brought them down here." I said. Aiden, who was asleep when the nurse gave him to me, had woken up and was playing with my finger. "The babies are perfectly healthy so they will be able to stay in your room when ever you want. Infact you can bring them down yourself." One of the nurses said. So Natalie and I carried the babies down to the room and a nurse followed us with their beds. "Well, Ewan and I are going to head back. We are done for the rest of the day, and Natalie, we won't need you for a couple days. Ok?" He said as he patted her arm. He gently ran his hand over Maddy's soft head and patted me on the back. George was a great guy. He was so nice. This would be the second time he has changed the corse of production for me, but he is the kind of man that would do that and not think twice about it. "I think Maddy is asleep." Natalie said as she slowly stood up from the chair she was sitting in and laid her down into her bed and pulled the little pink blanket up to cover her and keep her warm. Aiden was on the verge of falling asleep, but he was trying to fight it. He was going to be a hand full. "I still can't believe that they are mine, you know. That I am a dad, and will be for the rest of my life no matter what happens." I said as I watched Evelyn sleep. She looked so content when she slept. |
