| "Well I can answer one of those questions." Hayden said as he walked in from the kitchen. "Hello, you must be Nikki, I am Hayden" He said as he went to shake her hand but she grabbed him into a big hug. At first he didn't know what to do but soon eased up and hugged her back. I couldn't contain my laughter. Nikki in one word was a hugger. She hugged everyone, she was very friendly. Not at all reserved. "Evelyn, you sure know how to pick 'em." She said as she pinched his butt as she walked around him, and winked at me. Hayden jumped then looked at me like he didn't know how to respond. "So I've been told." I said as I winked back. "So where are the babies. They need to meet their Aunt Nikki so they know who's house to come to when they get sick of you guys." She said as I led her back to their room, laughing at her comment. The funny thing was I believed her. We went into the nursery where the babies were swinging quietly in the swinging chairs. Hayden had just been in their with them when he came out to meet Nikki. She almost melted when she saw them. She loved babies so much and was with me through out most of my pregnancy. She hoped to one day have her own at-home daycare center. She eventually came out of the nursery after she helped put them both down for the night. "Well I have to go, but I have the next few days off, so we can get together and do something, and if you guys need anything just call. Especially you." She said as she pointed to Hayden and then turned to me and acted like she was fanning herself off. Normally if another girl talked to Hayden like that I would have went psycho on her, but this was just the way Nikki was. You either liked her or you didn't. Some people couldn't handle someone like her. "Alright, I'll be sure to call you." I said as I hugged her and she walked out the door. "Wow, are all your friends like her." Hayden asked with a blank expession. "No, just most of them." I said keeping a straight face. "Are you serious?" He asked "Honey, I'm kidding. Nikki is really my only close friend. Don't worry, she doesn't bite.......hard." I said as I threw my arms around his neck and kissed him. He acted like he lost his balance and we both fell onto the couch. I propped myself up on my elbows and looked down at him as he was looking up at me. "I'm so glad you found me." I said "Yea, life throws it's own unexpected encounters at you. You just have to look out for them and grab them when you get the chance" He said as he pulled me down to kiss me again. But before anything was accomplished the phone rang. I didn't move from my position over top of him, I liked it to much, I just reached for the phone and answered it, hopeing it didn't wake up the babies. "Hello?" "You ready for a visit from an old, dear, friend?" I could hear a male voice say. My heat skipped about ten beats when I realized who it was. |
