Chapter 15 I didn't know what to do. I was scared. I had never seen Justin act like this before, there was a real fierceness about him. I didn't know what to do, though. I wanted to tell Hayden and have him leave but then again, maybe I misunderstood the whole thing. Maybe I imagined most of it. What ever it was, I felt really uncomfortable around him now and I needed to tell Hayden. My chance came as I walked out of the nursery and turned around the corner. "Hey babe, what's wrong?" Hayden asked as he put his hands on my arms and looked at me. "Umm, I don't know how to say this but......" I started, but as soon as I started to say anything Justin came around the corner. "What's going on?" He asked as he looked from Hayden to me. I was shocked to see that he looked like the caring person that I knew him to be . "You ready?" He asked Hayden. "Yea, be right out." Hayden said as Justin left and Hayden turned back to me. "I am so glad he is here. I haven't seen him in forever. So what were you saying?" He asked. "Umm, nothing, nothing." I said as I looked down to the floor. "Are you sure?" He asked as he looked at me with concern in his eyes. "Yea." I couldn't tell him. "What are you two doing?" I asked him as I turned and walked towards the livingroom, picking up the babies toys that were laying around. "We are going out front to play some basketball. Do you want to play? Can Nikki play?" He asked. "Yea, she can play, but I don't feel much like playing right now. I have a lot to do. But you guys better go play, it is going to be getting dark here soon." I said as I walked by him. He grabbed my hand as I walked by and when I turned around he hugged me. "I am so glad Justin came down. This is the first time the three of us have been together in a long time." That night eveything went along like nothing was wrong. At first I wasn't sure about Justin, but as the night wore on I calmed down and by the end of the night Hayden, Justin and I were sitting around wathing movies, and talking like we used to. I just decided that I wasn't going to let that little deal bother me. I put it behind me and tried to forget about it. "Well, I am going to go check on the babies and then go to bed." I said as I stood up, kissed Hayden, told Justin good night and walked back to our room. About an hour later Hayden finally came to bed after taking a shower. We laid in bed talking for a few minutes and eventually feel asleep. The next morning I woke up around 10:00 in the morning, which was really unusual because the babies were usually up by 7:00, unless Hayden would get up with them to let me sleep in. But Hayden was still asleep next to me. So I got up and put on my robe and walked to the babies room. When I opened the door and walked in I saw that neither of them were in the room. My heart beat increased ten fold and I quickly walked into the living room, but no one was there. Not in the kitchen, the dinning room, the spare room or even in the garage. I started to panic and I ran back into the bedroom. "Hayden get up!" I said as I changed into some clothes quickly. He jumped up in bed. "What? What is it? What's wrong?" He asked rubbing his eyes. "The babies are gone! Did you get up with them this morning?" I asked as I finished changing and ran back out of the room. |
