Chapter 17

The next few days were spent trying to forget what had happened and move on towards getting Hayden settled into the house. We went through everything he had and tried to figure out what to do with it all. I was really glad that we didn't hear anything from Justin or him coming back around. I couldn't believe how he had changed so much in little under a year.

"I want to do something today." Hayden said as he sat down next to me on the couch. Maddy and Aiden were playing in their playpen in the middle of the living room floor.

"Well , what do you want to do?" I asked as I rested my head on his shoulder.

"How about the park, I feel like taking a walk." He said.

"Sounds good. Help me get the babies ready and then we'll leave." I said as I patted his leg and stood up. I went over to the playpen, picked up Maddy, Hayden came over and picked up Aiden and we went into the nursery and got them ready. We changed them, put some warm clothes on them because it was just a little bit chilly out and I got ready myself.

"You ready?" I asked as I walked into our room from the bathroom. Hayden was playing with the babies on the bed trying to keep them entertained while I was getting ready.

"Yep." He said as he put Aiden into the stroller and put on a baby-sling and I helped him get Maddy into it right. So we headed to the park, that was just about a block away, and I pushed Aiden who was fascinated by everything we passed. Maddy on the other hand was less then amused with her surroundings. She was perfectly content with chewing on Hayden's shirt. She was so amused, she kept kicking her feet and giggling.

Once we got to the park we walked around the lake and on the paths that went through the trees. We stopped a couple times to rest and we finally found a good spot on the grass where the sun was heating it up and we layed a blanket down and let the babies play with the few toys we brought. We didn't have to worry about them too much because they were too young to crawl around and besides rolling around they never moved much. It was a beautiful park, one of the few left in the town that wasn't run down and covered in sand. It actually had thick green, healthy grass. Which is very hard to come by in Southern Florida. We had been at the park for about an hour when I was looking around and thought I saw Justin, but it must have been someone who looked like him. It scared me though, just the thought of him being here scared me. We descided to leave a short while later and on the way back we stopped at a hot dog stand and then later stopped at an ice cream stand. The babies couldn't eat much real food besides cereal, but they love ice cream. Hayden blames that on me because I too love ice cream and constantly at it while I was pregnant with them.

"George called yesterday." Hayden said as we were walking home.

"Really, what did he say?" I asked as we turned down our street to the house.

"He was just saying that they were close to being done filming. And he wanted to know if he could use some of the footage of us and when everyone was at the house in the extras for the DVD." Hayden asked as looked down at Maddy who was asleep in the carrier that was strapped to his chest. She still had a handful of his shirt, that was wet from her chewing on it. He grabbed one of the baby blankets and wrapped around her, holding it so it wouldn't fall.
